place of marriage

Hello Vjers,

I have been thinking of this matter for a while and I am really worried when I reach the interview in the embassy. My husband and I was married in my hometown but the REAL Venue was from a different town. When I asked the people who made the certificate, they said, the place of marriage in the certificate should be from where the Marriage license was released. They said that you can only get Marriage license in a place where me or my husband reside, so of course we have to use my parent's address. The actual venue was in my Aunt's small farmlike/rest house in a different town as we want to have a private/outdoor wedding.

I am willing to tell the truth to the CO if asked but do you think this will be a problem? Do you think it will be a possible denial of Visa?

Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated. If you need further information/clarification on my situation, please let me know.

If the Republic of PI is OK with your marriage, no CO at a US consulate will think any differently....

Well I think so, and I believe that is their policy. To get marriage license in your residence and that is what we did, but the thing is the venue, is different as we wanted something private and outdoor. For me, if we got a marriage license in town where we had the real ceremony, that is kinda lying as neither me nor my husband lives there. So I really hope it won't be a problem.
