So I'm helping Matt look over the online application for his long form birth certificate, and seeing as he's in a rare form tonight, the jokes he's making are actually kind of funny. (Either that, or this whole process is causing me to go a little wonky..) Of course, the first thing I thought was "Oh hey, my friends at VJ might get a kick out of this...(or they'll think I'm insane. )"

Me being a silly American and getting weirded out by the Canadian system (for the 2384728374th time since we met)

(7:38:40 PM) Tiffanney: I put in your name and that it'll be delivered to ****** postal code

(7:38:51 PM) Matt: And it knows my address, right?

(7:38:52 PM) Tiffanney: ... and it brings up that your street name is *STREET NAME*

(7:38:55 PM) Tiffanney: FREAKY

(7:38:57 PM) Matt: Tiff.

(7:38:58 PM) Matt: Not really.

(7:39:03 PM) Tiffanney: IT IS FOR ME SHUT UP

(7:39:05 PM) Matt: Postal Code > Zip Code

(7:39:18 PM) Matt: Zip Code = Regional. Postal Codes = Street AND side of street.

(7:39:19 PM) Tiffanney: DUDE. We have like 5 for the city of Des Moines

(7:39:23 PM) Tiffanney: You have like 2457427092470923479028374

(7:39:35 PM) Matt: A postal code alone can get mail to my house.

(7:39:45 PM) Tiffanney: crazycanadiansaywut

(7:39:59 PM) Matt: More like outdatedAmericansasaywut. ;p

The application asking if the person being applied for is deceased

(7:43:07 PM) Tiffanney: Hey Matt

(7:43:12 PM) Tiffanney: are you deceased?

(7:43:22 PM) Matt: Is there an option for zombie?

(7:43:28 PM) Tiffanney: Unfortunatly not.

(7:43:32 PM) Matt: Then yes.

(7:43:35 PM) Tiffanney: lol

(7:43:39 PM) Tiffanney: So you're dead?

(7:43:43 PM) Matt: Yep.

(7:43:47 PM) Matt: Cause I'm that awesome.

(7:43:49 PM) Tiffanney: XD

(7:43:55 PM) Matt: The world can't handle it.

Asking for weight at birth

(7:46:04 PM) Tiffanney: It asks your weight at birth.

(7:46:24 PM) Tiffanney: not required, but still

(7:46:30 PM) Matt: Unknown, my presence was too powerful, and it broke the scale.

Asking about who delivered

(7:47:22 PM) Tiffanney: It was a physician that delivered you. right?

(7:47:28 PM) Matt: I have no idea.

(7:47:45 PM) Matt: I can't seem to remember that day too clearly.

Yeah. Considering the mood I've been in all day, these were a little funny to me. Hopefully you get a little chuckle out of them, too. Thanks for the LOL moments, Ontario.

These two in particular really made me laugh -- especially the comment "I can't seem to remember that day too clearly." lol, hilarious!

Lol very cute. Reminds me of the conversations the two of us have. There's an awesome one about spaghettios somewhere that I should dig up.

This totally made me think of why I think online relationships have a potential to connect that differs in such a positive way from 'traditional' couples. You might have a cute conversation face to face but they're never saved for posterity.

Thanks for sharing - it's made me feel all fuzzy wuzzy about why I love my guy

 cute!

I love how this thread has taught me about Canadian postal codes... even though I'm Canadian and lived there for 21 years :P
