As some of you may know, Anh received a notice asking for additional information earlier this year and we did everything we could to comply, despite not understanding what it was they were looking for.

We worried for nothing. Today the letter arrived stating Conditions have been removed and Anh's ten year green card will arrive within 60 days.

Obviously I am happy and relieved. :thumbs:

So the question now is, how do we calculate when she can apply for U.S. Citizenship?

She can apply 90 days prior to meeting the residency requirement

Hey Matt, congratulations, I am glad things worked out for the both of you ...I remember when you were flippin' out with your situation.........anyway would you be able to update us...since u are in nyc I assume you applied at Vermont service center? I am just curious when you did because I know they are slow lol.......and most Spetember 2009 I751 filers are still waiting, what was the timeframe for your i 751 process?

Permanent Resident card received 11/05/07 (dated 10/31/07)! THank u LorD!

Mailed I-751 overnight mail to Vermont Service Center 09/10/09

VSC received the I-751 Packet 09/11/09 About 12 pm Local time

Check was cashed as of Sept 16th 2009

NOA Received 09/19/09 dated 09/14/09

I-797 Appointment Notice received 10/01/09 dated 09/25/09 (Biometrics)

Got they 10 year GC approval letter in the mail dated 01/08/10! yehey!

10 GREENCARD RECEIVED 01/20/10

Citizenship.......maybe............or maybe stay a permanent resident .......................

It was late March or early April when we first applied. Then we sent in the update in early August, I think. So turnaround was decent. Vermont Service Center.

Yeah, I was wigging out, but all nor nothing. It just worked out for her/us. Thank God!

Now we are just looking forward to our trip to Vietnam.

02-04-2009 : Visited my wife for 2 weeks. 02-22-2009 come back to US

02-11-2009 : Received package from NVC

02-23-2009 : AOS Paid $70 (Online)

02-23-2009 : DS-3032 sent (by email)

02-25-2009 : Payment Received from my bank (AOS)

03-04-2009 : NVC has received the Choice of Agent DS-3032 (Online)

03-04-2009 : IV Application Processing Fees $400 (Online)

03-05-2009 : Payment Received from my bank (IV APS)

05-11-2011 : Received ASC Appointment Notice

06-03-2011 : Biometrics Apts @ 11:00 AM

10-11-2011 : Submit more evidence.

The Green Card arrived this week. It's here. It's over. Now onto citizenship. :)

I had conditions removed - got the letter today... no interview nothing... :whistle:

Am glad I got it coz I want to be with Paul but m not over the moon as I do not like living here. Can't see myself becoming a citizen... would feel like a hypocrite to do that.

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

I-751 posted on 6th August 2009

Received on 7th August 2009 in VT
