You can have either a one-way or round trip - doesn't matter.

They don't ask you how much money you have - you'll be asked if you have anything to declare (if carrying less than $10,000 total, you do not need to declare your money/valuables).

Congratulatins and have a nice trip.

If you get a round-trip and stay in the US after marriage, you have to apply for AP (Advance Parole) in order to travel back

for visiting your family before you get the Green Card.

I second that. She is getting a one-way ticket and will consider a 2-way ticket only if it is MUCH cheaper

because she is planning to be at her son's university graduation in July.

She didn't buy her ticket yet but we are discussing that now as I'm typing this.

WOW THIS THE LAST THING...I DON'T GET TI...

It is OK to travel to the US on a one-way ticket - the airline would not sell you one if you did not have the proper visa (certainly they would not allow you to board the airplane if you could not verify the proper visa).

So whether you have a round trip or one-way is irrelevant with the proper visa (get the one that makes the most sense for your circumstances and/or is the cheapest (which is often a R/Trip ticket).

P.S.

It is considered SHOUTING when you type with your Caps-Lock on.

You can fly in with a one way ticket or a round trip. Usually it is just cheaper to buy the roundtrip and not use the return leg flight. However if you can find a one way ticket for cheaper it makes no difference. If there is a problem with immigration all you have to do is explain its way cheaper to buy one way if thats the case. They arent stupid they know. As for your cash, you only have to claim 10,000.00 USD and over ...two hundred dollars isn't enough to claim, you can spend that at a coffee stand in the airport. When you read the customs form it will say something to that effect, if you have over 10,000.00 you must claim that here blah blah blah BTW FYI if you buy anything in the states over 10,000.00 in cash it has to be reported by whomever you bought from, cars, etc

Check btstore.com, I find the best rates there for international travel and the one-way tickets there ARE actually cheaper than the round trip.

Yes you can enter with a one-way ticket, even though this is technically a non-immigrant visa it's assumed you will marry and transition to immigrant status.

The only thing that I can add to this is the following: if you do purchase a round-trip ticket because it is cheaper, be sure the first leg of the trip is in your country and NOT the US. A few unfortunate souls have done this in the past thinking...well, I am not sure what they were thinking...but keep this in mind. I imagine with the way the airline industry has been lately, a single leg ticket will be ultimately cheaper. Good Luck!!
