Hezbollah are "terrorists"? I'd like to see what happens if you displaced the inhabitants of New England, forcing them to live in any other of the 49 states in the Union. Methinks they may form a militia group and want to return to their homes.

The word "terrorist" refers to the manner in which people fight, (i.e uncoventional warfare), irregardless of why they did it.

Examples of terrorism would be things like these:

* Bombing of Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia killing 19 U.S. servicemen (1996)

* Bombing of Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires killing 96 (1994) <- July 18th!

* Bombing of Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires killing 29 (1992)

* Abduction, torture and death of CIA Station Chief in Lebanon (1985)

* Hijacking of TWA Flight 847 killing one U.S. Navy diver (1985)

* Bombing outside U.S. Embassy annex in Beirut killing 24 (1984)

* Car bombing of U.S. Marine Barracks in Beirut killing 241 U.S. servicemen (1983)

* Car bombing of U.S. Embassy in Beirut killing 63 people, including 17 Americans (1983)

I don't know about you, but I don't think there will ever be a day when I don't refer to someone who hijacks a plane as a terrorist!

By that rationale then Saudi Arabia should be a terrorist nation? Yet they are your allies.

Terrorism?

That Saudi Arabia openly sponsored acts like examples I gave is something I'm not specifically aware of. I believe there are Saudi nationals that have participated in Terrorist acts, but the country itself hasn't openly got behind them have they (honest, ignorant question)?

Even if they did, okay, so they are Terrorists. Just because one of our allies practices Terrorism, it doesn't make Hezbollah any less of Terrorists, does it?

However, America invaded Iraq and killed tens of thousands of cilivians. Who are the terrorists?

Well, that's a very loose discription of the term Terrorism. First of all, it would have to be established that the aim of the invasion was to kill civilians, rather than their deaths being caused by the acts of war.

I'm sure the civilians were in fact Terrorized by the bombs coming their way, but that does not qualify it as Terrorism. EVEN if it is, again, it does not mean that Hezbollah does not practice Terrorism.

Okay, I watched the whole video and I saw no evidence of Al Qaeda massing at our borders. How does this address mine or mdyoungs acute ignorance? Did you post the wrong video?

Israel's massive assault on Lebanon is not the kind of action that can be undertaken overnight, or even within a few days. As our military veterans should already know, a deployment on this scale takes months to plan.
