Fed Ex is good....but really expensive. Try Forex. Had no problem using their services. Hubby sent me a care box thru their services and it reached me in less than a month. USPS is not a good idea because Philpost will be the one to get it before sending it out to you and Philpost is slow...not to mention the fact that some items go missing, or it may not reach you at all (because others decided to keep it)

FedEx is NOT a balikbayan. I have sent several balikbayan boxes using Pentagon Cargo with a 100% delivery rate. Depends if you live in an area populated by Filipinos. IF not, there wont be a balikbayan box cheap shipper. ($65 for shipping 90 Lbs of goods.. How expensive would FedEx be for that! It costs $100 bucks to send a 2 Lb envelope to the Phils with them!)

ps, the Somali pirates are never interested in the cargo on a ship. They hold the ship and crew hostage while demanding a ransom. The story I loved the most this year is when the pirates were making their getaway with all the ransom cash, and four of them drowned in the ocean

Agreed Fed Ex is NOT a Balikbayan.

It would cost you $600 to $900 to ship via Fed Ex

I don't know which state are you in right now but try calling:

Atlas Shippers Intl

Covina, CA

480-610-4687

The cost is 115 dollars for macho box (24x18x24), 95 dollars for regular box (20x17x22). I have not tried sending boxes to the Philippines but a friend from CA told me about this courier company. You can call them for more info.

Reunited for good and it feels so good!

I got my box before from Philpost, they opened and inspected the box in front of me... so I know nothing went missing. Hummm.

LBC and Forex are both good. I've only seen one case of someone having the box having been opened and things were missing.

We just sent one vis Forex last week. Normally takes a month. Cost was $80 for 24x24x20. No weight restrictions.

I have sent two boxes; one last year and the other one this year to my fiancee. One took 2 months and the other 4 months to arrive. They were intact and in good condition when they arrived. The boxes went through Alpha Cargo.

We have sent several boxes with no problems. I don't know who the service was for the first one becuase we used a guy from a Filipino cafe we found in Orange Calif. The last several times we have used Manila Forwarders to send boxes to Cagayan on Mindanao and it was terrific. The boxes arrived in less than 4 weeks and the pricing was very reasonable from what we paid the first time.
