She has 6 months to activate her visa...once she arrives, she has 90 days to marry in the US (to you of course)

This is when you file for AOS...read the guides...you can apply for Advanced Parole (allowing her to travel pending the GC) and EAD (allowing her to work), if you apply for all 3 together, the cost is still the same as applying for just the GC...right now timelines are running about 4 months from time you apply. If you get transferred to CSC, likely no interview...if not, you will likely have a AOS interview.

In the meantime...you can wait about 1-2 weeks from her arrival (allowing time for homeland security to upload her into the system) and go to apply for an SSN. Some SSA offices are not aware that K1's qualify for an SSN, so print out the info from here on the guides and take it with you.

Depending on what state you are in, she may qualify for a DL, or may have to wait for your EAD or GC.... you can read up and then ask questions if you still have any. Be sure to apply for an SSN before her I-94 expires...or else she will be in limbo until her EAD or GC arrives.

Good luck :)
