Update on Son's Petition

OK so we applied in Dec of 07 for the son that was over 18 when I married my husband, This is a child that was born out of wedlock however dad is on the BC from the get go. Out RFE is for proof of relationship.

RFE received 11/20 in mail have until FEb to provide proof

Here is what we have so far.

Dad suppiled health insurance in colombia from 2000 to 2008 We have this receipt

Letter from the child's mom stating the dad supported him since birth.

Letter from ex when child came to stay with her and always over the house.

We have no money receipes from us except a few from 07 as we need proof before the child's 18 birthday.

Any other suggestions?

This child basically lived with the ex and his 2 brohters and times. Lived with his Aunt ( hubby's sister ) and off and on woth tpoher relatives.

Hola sister... I concur a DNA test would be advisable, to prove relationship. Bless you for caring for THREE stepkiddos

OK so even though RFE states show other things besides blood ties the DNA would be a good idea to send in or just get it done so when the interviuew happens we already have it??

So far we have the Mom, the ex wife and 2 other people that knew of the relationship( non family memebers ). Just do not want to ** this up for the hubby........... They are being sent to us now and will get them translated.

Also have a picture of Dad with all 3 boys when this one had first communion

Just a quick update Case was approved today after RFE received on 2/12/10. Now we wait for a visa number and confuse myself even more. Does hubby apply for Cictizenship or stay as an LPR? Based on the CSPA calculator I have it will be another 1 1/2 years for the visa to become available, however the child will still be under 21 ( nbased on CSPA ) due to the lenght of time it took to approve. Please any comments will greatly help. Here is the time line for this child

Just a quick note. Have our NVC number, son received the NVC letter stating no visa number yet, shows his category as an F2A so hopefully that stays. Have been reading on the CSPA and have decided for hubby to wait on the N400 until we can get this son here. From reading very confusing info the child can keep the priority date if dad does not naturlize as the son is already over 21. We have until 5/2012 for the CSPA to apply, but the way it is flying it looks like under 12 months as right now they are on 12/06.....

Received email that NVC is processing case under CSPA. Woo HOO :dance:

SO NOW as per the NVC Operator the BC we sent is not enough. They want a BC with the names of the Grandparents also. This is a son born out of wedlock to my Hubby back in 1989. This is all the is holding up the case. Son is going to go today to the place where he was born to see what they have. Weird though because in the registry it shows the dad acknoledge this birth in 1993 ( child Born 1989 ). I am betting that in COlombia DNA will be next.
