Deleting posts and threads

Again, if he read the other post deleted, why? This is not the first time that I have seen Tay close threads and delete posts that were not warranted. I have kept my mouth shut about it, but it appears that I am not the only one that feels that this is happening all to often.

I would just like to point out that TayRivers, since he started as a moderator, has closed exactly 4 threads in addition to this one -which was requested closed by the OP. Those four threads include 2 additional ones also requested closed by the OP, one closed for other than TOS violations ("Other" reasons are 'housekeeping' type of closures, closed because they are too large and another thread has started, are duplicate posts, are trolling posts, are racist posts, are spam, etc.)

This is the link to the only thread closed by TayRivers that required a decision by a moderator. You will notice that by the time it was closed many of the members were calling for its closure as well.

Based on an analysis of the true data involved, I disagree with the statement above that TayRivers has closed threads and removed posts without warrant. It is not bourne out by the factual evidence.

Only 4 threads? I hightly doubt that takes into account the threads that he temporarily closes. Meanwhile, the thread falls to the 3rd page and has the same effect as if it had been closed. Agreed. You're referring to the C4C thread you started, I assume. Your subtitle was "100% less moderation" or something similar. It was clearly tongue in cheek and yet the Headmistress herself could not handle that and felt the need to change it.

Not only was the comment of "100% less moderation" deleted, but the title itself was truncated. I loved her final post in the thread that she started for the C4C.

Just to let you know, Rob and Mel, the only reason this thread was started by a moderator was because a C4C member requested - twice - that the previous thread be closed due to size and a new thread started.

Now, if I wanted I could merge these two threads as duplicate threads really serve no purpose and this would become the only Part IV thread again, but I will be nice and just attach a link to this thread in the version of the thread that you started and close this one.

And - the new thread doesn't have 100% less moderation anymore

Nobody asked you to start the thread, and nobody asked you your opinion on the title and or comment. It was not against the TOS so you had no right to edit it out.

All- It is fine if you do not: like, disagree with, think is bad, etc. a mod. What is not ok is if you (just like it is not ok for any other member) get on the open forum and bash them. Being factual is fine but saying things like "her highness" and other personal jabs is not ok. You may think that because someone is a mod you can do that -- I am here to remind you that the TOS applies to them to. Stop. I see valid concerns raised but no one has bothered to even try to use the complaint channel to have me look at it. Please see the TOS and use the contact us form to have me look into such complaints. I won't sit in an open forum and allow any member (including a mod) to have an entire conversation directed at picking on them. Final warning -- this type of thing has gone too far. Seriously though what was it hurting? Do we need to search and find Thread Titles ( not even the remarks portion ) that were totally off base yet left up forever and are probaly still there? A memeber opened a thread in OT, with a cute comment and then it gets taken away with justice to say edit it themself?

As a matter of fact, I did use the report function and sent an email and a PM to you. So I tried to go the proper route but after a while, impatience takes over.

No offense. I am not online all the time. You sent the PM and within 30 minutes I replied. WAIT next time please. I know it is hard, but patience is a virtue and I did get to your request AND I have made a correction to the issue. All this complaining and attacks on the mods did nothing to help your case and if anything the fact that despite this I still reviewed the case should show you that I do indeed care to follow the review process. Give it a chance and give me time to get online (and to reply) when you contact me. I do eat, sleep and have time away from the PC -- seriously I do .

Again as soon as I was able to get online I reviewed this and corrected. I also advised the mods on future decisions. Part of this though is that I want to be very clear and remind people to allow me to review any concerns you have first (give me time to get online please as I do sleep and have a life outside VJ) and also stop the personal attacks on the mods (just like this is not ok against other members).
