may be yes,may be not,but probably not. i dont know what is this visit like, who will come, what will they say nor language they speak ok.

this usually happens in high fraud countries, which they may fake paper to let the embassy unsure if this is the usc who came with you or not:)

good luck anyway

Consulates can do whatever they choose to determine the realtionship is bona fide and not primarily for immigration benefit. This can mean that the realtionship fits into local custom, though marrying people from far away foreign countries hardly fits into US "local custom" at any rate.

In some countries, as I understand Egypt is one of them, it is customary for the family to be aware of the marriage plans and "approve of them" though it isn't like you need a note from your mother. However if your aprents were not aware of these plans it would be a "red flag" and something for the consulate to consider in their decision.

My husband had a home visit during our AP. Actually there are several of us from Egypt who have

had at least one visit. It's not uncommon for Cairo to do home visits in Egypt.

The fellow doing the home visit asked my husbands father and uncle if they knew about our

marriage and did they approve, had his uncle met me and talked with me. He did not want to speak with my husband. He also asked my husbands neighbors and shopkeepers where my husband lived and if they knew me. Did they see us together outside. Asked if we had a wedding party also.

Don't know if it could be a denial if the parents don't approve.

Well when it comes to USA embassy in Cairo you can not expect what they are going to do .

SO maybe they will visit your home maybe they wont .they even might ask you if your family approve your relationship with your wife or maybe they wont even ask you that question .

Get your self prepared for everything .and i hope that you will have a smooth interview.

Good luck and my best wishes for you .

Mohamed

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Whats with all the numbers?

English and proper typing so people can help. This is not a cell phone.

Be aware that this site has many members from all over the globe. Not everyone is skilled in English and proper typing. It is, however, PROPER for someone in Egypt to use numbers in place of certain letters.

Your comment was unnecessary.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Also the OP might get better responses in the MENA forum.

It is common to use numbers in place of certain letters when transliterating Egyptian into the Roman alphabet. The same is true of Arabic transliteration. OP was writing in English. This type of shortcut is common in chatrooms, instant messaging, and SMS, where the user is either pressed for time or using a restricted keyboard. It's considered bad "netiquette" when posting on forums, where posters have plenty of time and usually have access to a full keyboard, and where being correctly understood is usually more important than in a chatroom. This is true regardless of the country the poster is from. Inky's comment was not out of line.

This is a minor faux pas of forum etiquette, and easily forgivable if the OP learned (or is learning) English from chatrooms or SMS. However, if the OP knows the proper spelling of the English words he is using, then he should spell out the words properly.

Hello and welcome to VJ. I was wondering if you dont mind me asking but does your family approve of your engagement with your fiancee? I noticed that a couple of times you've asked if the Embassy was going to question whether your family approved of her or not..... Does your family approve? Do they know you are engaged??

My husbands famiy approved of me from the get go and I spent the first 2 weeks with his mom, nany, sister and him. Back in 2006 I had my grandparents approval (they met Adam first) and we had his families approval...
