Will it be the traditional American menu of turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn bread and pumpkin pie? Or, will it be adobo, pancit, calderreta, rice, bibingka and puto?

This will be my first Thanksgiving dinner ever and I am looking forward to it. I think that, in addition to the 20lb Butterball and its trimmings, a Filipino dish or two will also be on the table. My husband and I are both Ilocanos; hence, pinakbet and pinapaitan might likewise be in the works. Some of my husband's friends and co-workers will be at the house and they'll probably enjoy the Filipino delights.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving Day, everyone!

But, Claim Jumper is for lunch. How about dinner? Somehow, the portions at Claim Jumper are very huge and they might sustain you through the night! :star:

I volunteered to make the Green Bean Casserole since my sis n law will be hosting the Thanksgiving dinner. I will be bringing dessert too - Strawberry and Lemon Tiramisu. At home, will cook some pasta with turkey sausage, fennel, cubanelle peppers, cheese tomatoes and basil since I need to stay away from the turkey. I had a big heart burn 3 yrs ago coz I ate the turkey leg.

Pinakbet! I miss that. :( Happy Eating tomorrow everyone!

I eat too much pinakbit, hehe. My wife does not like to eat, but I like it. Here in Hawaii it is too easy to get Ilocano food. I guess for me and my wife will goto my mom's family party. It will be a mix of Asian and Haole food.

As usual, it's gonna be turkey, jellied cranberry, jellied yams, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet corn, pumpkin pie, etc. And because kinsfolk from Ciudad Juarez will be crossing the border legally to join us for Thanksgiving, there will be a side dish of carne asada with tortilla, refried beans, sour cream, salsa picante, guacamole and cerveza Corona! And of course, the missus, Pilar, will prepare her adobo and pancit.

Does that mean that sinanglao, dinardaraan, kilawen a calding, Vigan longganisa, basi and other goodies from Ilocandia are easily within grabbing distance?

And, would there be a luau at your mom's party? With roasted pig, poi, laulau, lomi lomi, poke and mai tai served in coconut cups?
