While acknowledging that Eric was indeed an unwieldy and sometimes highly offensive presence on VJ, I maintain that he is not without a certain (albeit juvenile) amusing charm. Then again, I wasn't a mod during his VJ days--I imagine he created a lot of work for them.

I say, give him another shot, unrestricted. An incremental approach will just complicate things. If he screws up again, well....

I guess people deserve 2nd chances, but some ppl get a zillion chances and still don't improve. I agree with the "how easily people forget" sentiment. Maybe I will get talked about elsewhere now by Eric. I don't hate Eric, but I have seen him write some things that are not cool. Not just the joke pervert stuff.

Eric has indeed been a jerk, an azz, and has made extremely inappropriate comments. So have at least 3 people in this site that I can think of, and yet here they are. Honestly, people need to stop taking their online lives so damn seriously.

Well, this goes back to what I said about the moderating on these boards. How is it that he gets the ban stick, but others who say things equal if not worse dont' even get the obligatory 3 hour suspension? As scandal said, it's capricious and arbitrary.

well, I could be wrong but I think Eric was perma-banned because he would start spamming the boards with ####### when he got upset...

IMO he has done worse than whoever you are talking about. He made IDs again and again just to come write some horrible things, again and again. I know, some other ppl do say nasty stuff as well and I do wonder why they are handled so lightly. But still, I don't know. hehe. I'm not going along with this thing.
