We've received our petition confirmation (hooray) and I'm now in the process of gathering together documents for my interview. My question is, do I need to include an affidavit of support document given we already submitted them with the petition package? I'm hoping the London consulate will have copies/access to the supporting evidence we have already submitted.

You may want updated paystubs to bring to the interview to show continued work and pay but other then that they should have all the stuff in your file, thats assuming it doesnt get lost somewhere of course.

The affidavit of support and the supporting documentation should accompany you to the interview. They will be asking for this at the first window where you turn in all the paperwork asked for on your checklist.

yes they did but i think to be safe i would fill out another one because they date when you sign it will be more recent. That and like OP said also take updated pay stubs and bank info etc. just to be extra sure

Yeah, it exists but has been submitted. Can I get clarification as to whether I need to take a copy along with me or can reasonably rely on the consulate having access to the one submitted with my petition?

(Getting another signed copy is going to be a bit of a pain and will delay my interview request, which I'd rather avoid.)

Consulat will have access to all papers and evidence you submitted with the initial petition ( generally in 1 or 2 giant brown folders depending on how much evidence you sent in and how much they gather with the bakcground checks )

Okay. Thanks again!

Figured I would add, from personal experience at my K-1 the file is G-normus! ( ours was anyway ) and the interviewer at the consulat I was at did go through the papers prior to the interview as well as during the interview he used the files/papers as refrence and to ask questions as well as looked through them to check things.

Sounds terrifying, to be honest. I keep worrying I'll go blank and not remember my fiance's birth date etc. Just being silly and paranoid, but still.

I worried too, they did ask me but i kept repeating it in my head while walking to the embassy and stuff.. now? I cant get it OUT of my head lol.. My experience they really didnt ask me alot of detailed things about him.. His birthday, how old he was, how we met, if he likes his job, if its going to be his career. Things like that.

I'll probably be doing the same on the day...

Regarding pay stubs, I'm freelancing at the moment, and it's not been a good year so this has me slightly worried as well. I have reasonable savings, and have never been on government support. Secondly, the affidavit we submitted more than covers the required 125% above poverty line requirement as my fiancee's father kindly offered to sponsor me. It's just my personal income for the last year isn't going to look all that great. I've applied for various jobs as well, but have had no luck. Is it likely to be a stumbling block? If so, I'll probably take some sort of temping position, unless I get a contract soon.

Yes. The one you submitted was not necessary. You will need an updated affidavit of support at the time of the interview.

Are you the US citizen petitioner? Or the foreign beneficiary?

I am very confused.

The US citizen is the sponsor, first, last and always...no exceptions. The US citizen can obtain a co-sponsor if he/she does not meet the poverty guidelines. The co-sponsor MUST be a US citizen or Permanent resident and MUST have a US domilcile. Any problems so far?

The employment and income of the foreign beneficiary has NO impact on the process. I would say the majority of foreign fiancees are unemployed at the time of the interview. It couldn't possibly matter less.

If the US citizen has a qualified co-sponsor then the US citizens current income is not a problem either.
