Co-sponsor's tax returns

I qualified for NVC without being employed and without a co-sponsor (I have rental property). I was concerned about not being employed for the interview (just relocated to a new state) so I asked my lawyer about this and they suggested I add a co-sponser. At the interview I had copies for my co-sponsor 2008 taxes she made over 60,000 a year and owns property over 300,000 and we received a BLUE SLIP. They asked for 3-years "CERTIFIED" copies from my co-sponsor (which is a 4506 form) which takes 60 days to received from the IRS. Why are they asking for this?

Because they can. Sorry that you'll have to wait, I'm sure it will be worth it. Good luck.

Because they can. Sorry to be blunt, but that is the answer.

Sorry to hear that. I don't know why either. AT present, I also qualified my wife and son for the AOS documents with part of my income based on unemployment insurance but I have not had the interview yet. I am presently still collecting unemployment and I pray I get a job before the interview. There has not been any real good information on VJ about anyone getting through the interview while collecting unemployment insurance. So, I hope I'm not the first to report a bad experience.

Good luck.

mmarc - no one qualifies at NVC - it's just 'document acceptance' . You might get an RFE for 'missing information' , but that's it.

GUZ handles final review and adjudication for the I-864. Sorry.
