DCF Filing for wife in Delhi

Hi Guys,

I am a US citizen ( Got my citizenship on Nov 16th, 2009 ) and would like to start green card process for my wife.

Since Oct 1st, 2008, I am residing in Mumbai with US green card and working for US Financial firm as expat.

Duration of the contract is from Oct 1st 2008 to Jun 2010. During this period, I have visited 3 times to USA and

finally got my citizenship on Nov 16th. Now, I would like to start DCF process for my wife.

I read most of the discussions and I was little bit confused about eligibility. I have sent emails to Delhi consulate and got similar responses which are on website. Some people responded to earlier topics saying "6 months of stay as US citizen is required ...someone said 3 months of stay is required ".....But, in the embassy it never mentioned about any duration...all it says, we have to show that we are resident of India..

Right now, I am in NY and in the process of applying employment visa to continue my job in India. Once after receiving the visa, I will fly to Mumbai and will register in FRRO office. I hope they will give residential permit/registration reports ett., Coming to apartment lease, Oct 1st 2008 to Aug 30, 2009, lease was on my name and from Sep 1st 2009 to July 30, it was on my wife's name.

Do I still need to wait for 3 or 6 months to file at Delhi ? I am staying in India for past 1yr and filed taxes etc., in USA and India.

Do I need any police clearance certificates from USA for myself ? and any for my wife in India from her past locations (i.e from Hyderabad etc., ) /

Please let me know how should I proceed ?
