Got my EAD and AP approved, me and my family is planning to spend Christmas in Canada after our AOS interview on Dec. 23. Just wondering if i can travel in Canada without Greencard yet but i have my AP papers with me.. I got no clue how does it work.. i know for sure that im using my Philippine Passport.. i just dont know if in Canadian boarder they will ask for Canadian Visa. Or my Philippine Passport with US K1 Visa (expired) and the Advance Parole document is enough for me to show them so they'll let me enter Canada and go back to US. Any answer regarding this will be so much aprreciated. Thanks!

If you are approved at interview then request the I-551 stamp for your passport... It acts like a temporary greencard until the physical card arrives and AP becomes meaningless.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I am a Citizen of the United States of America. 04/16/13

true, unless they are a US permanent resident (greencard).... If you are not approved at interview you had better have a backup plan as they will not let you in with only your passport and AP document... AP document only gets you back in the USA and not in another country that you would normally require a visa for

So am I correct to assume that all of this information means:

AP - you can only travel to countries that you could with your own country's passport? For example Jamaican K-1 holder with AP can only go to countries that allow Jamaican citizens without a visa.

Greencard - you can travel anywhere and U.S citizen can travel without having to get a visa?

AP changes nothing... AP is a re-entry document to the USA only and is not a valid travel document to any other country. It does not change visa/no visa entry requirements to a foreign country at all.

For the most part, a greencard does not change visa/no visa entry requirement except to Mexico, Canada and some places in the Carribean (for the most part).

YMMV
