little update on whats been going on with me: As some of you may know my bloody battle with NVC ended up in my parents getting the MOST unexpected phone call from the embassy in Moscow, telling them I no longer needed to deal with NVC and that their interviews would be scheduled shortly. Lately, when the NVC battle was getting very bad and I felt I was getting nowhere at all I started talking to them (NVC) about my moms health, and how after so many years of separation she is not feeling well at all. I said that by dragging my case on for so long I was having to face the fact that something could happen with her (high blood pressure etc). Anyway, long story short, when a lady from the Moscow embassy called them she asked how my mother was feeling. Sooooo, one of those days, one of those phone calls, someone actually listened to what I said and actually did something. UNbelievable! I attribute this to my endless hours of phone calls to NVC, literally every other day, for two months.

My parents were then emailed by the Moscow embassy to let them know they were being given the last available appt. date for this year-December 15.

On november 11 my mom received her invitation packet. As of now my dad still has not received his. I used the paid Moscow embassy phone number to call them yesterday and asked about my dad. They did a zapros v konsulstvo and I called back again the next day.

They told me that my dad indeed IS scheduled for the interview on the 15th along with mom. They couldnt explain why he didnt receive his invitation packet but said its ok for him to come on the day without it, they will let him in because he will be "on the list".

its gonna be a LONG three weeks.

thank you God.

Excellent to hear, you have been at war with NVC for so long, nice to see the Embassy trying to do right by your family. I will hope for your parents that all goes well at the interview.

oh, and one bit of strange information- my parents received an email reply to the email we wrote to moscow consul -the email basically had exactly the same questions that I asked when I called that $12 per call moscow embassy phone line. Anyway, so weird but what they told me and what they wrote in the email reply to my dad are just two complete opposites. I was asking wether we need to fill out ds230 again, do translation of documents again, and if my parents need to pay the DHL visa delivery fee ONCE or PER PERSON.

these people gave LITERALLY the exact opposite answers.

which still kinda makes me wonder if my parents need to pay one or two dhl visa delivery fees (they are married and live together).

Ask DHL. Tell them what your doing and they will tell you the weight and if one payment is good enough. Do you have one case # or 2? If 2, then make sure you put BOTH case numbers on the DHL receipt.

thanks-yes, this is exactly what i told my mom-to call DHL and ask. And yes, I will make sure she writes both case numbers on the receipt (we do have two cases) if she does end up going with one envelope.
