Why is this Thread titled "Illegal Aliens Moving to Texas, ABOUT TIME"

I don't get it, is he saying they are leaving Oklahoma for Texas because of Texas doesn't care if we are chunk full of the Criminal.

We are getting a lot of other states Illegal Aliens also, because the economy in Texas is still going pretty strong compared to other parts of the USA

Maybe it should be titled, Oklahoma, Way to Go, We Don't Want No Illegal Aliens in our State

A Texas-based television station reported last week that experts believe that as many as one million illegal aliens have moved to Texas from neighboring states as those states “toughen up on immigration.” Maybe that why "Texas is chuck full of the criminal" Maybe it's "about time" Texas toughen-up?

I am down for Texas to get tough on Illegals.

I say put a bounty on their head

oklahoma saving their schools and hospitals from being overrun! good for them.

i see illegals everyday pushing their newly born US citizen and future prison inmate around town in their strollers.... of course, after the taxpayers paid for the newly born US citizen's delivery. Sickening.

 Damn straight there.

I happened to stroll into walmart and the other week and was shocked by the number of people, with questionable status, that had two to four kids; with another on the way. Don't anyone dare tell me their husbands landscaping job paid for them. Wife's friend is a social worker in the country and says the majority of free lunches go to Hispanic children. All while they make up 6% of the county's population. Which begs the question, if you cannot afford to pay a $2.50 lunch, why do you have three kids? Who paid for their birth? Not rocket science to connect the dots.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

The wall was between east and west Germany.

Wall is not the answer anyway. $15K on the spot fine (per offense) for anyone caught hiring illegal aliens is. Third incident should result in felony charge for the employer. A mandatory residency status check on any and every government service. Loitering should also be illegal and result in on the spot residency checks, eliminating groups of illegal aliens hanging out for work.

A stern warning should also be given to anyone caught. If they care caught again, they will serve prison time; which increases exponentially per capture. Not to mention a lifetime ban after the second offense. E-verify used for renting out any property in a high risk area. Landlord who refuses to comply, should be fined $3k on the spot fine. Third offense house is confiscated and sold by the state.

Once all of these are in place, implement a temporary guest worker program. Temporary workers would be paid the going rate of any American doing the work.

The more than $4.7 billion in costs incurred by Texas taxpayers annually result from outlays in the

following areas:

■ Education. Based on estimates of the illegal immigrant population in Texas and documented

costs of K-12 schooling, Texans spend more than $4 billion annually on education for illegal

immigrant children and for their U.S.-born siblings. About 11.9 percent of the K-12 public

school students in Texas are children of illegal aliens.

■ Health Care. Taxpayer-funded medical outlays for health care provided to the state’s illegal

alien population amount to about $520 million a year.

■ Incarceration. The uncompensated cost of incarcerating illegal aliens in Texas’s state and county

prisons amounts to about $150 million a year (not including local jail detention costs or related

law enforcement and judicial expenditures or the monetary costs of the crimes that led to

their incarceration).

State and local taxes paid by the unauthorized immigrant population go toward offsetting these costs,

but they do not come near to matching the expenses. The total of such payments can generously be

estimated at slightly less than $1 billion per year.

The fiscal costs of illegal immigration do not end with these three major cost areas. The total costs of

illegal immigration to the state’s taxpayers would be considerably higher if other cost areas such as

special English instruction, welfare programs used by the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens, or

welfare benefits for American workers displaced by illegal alien workers were also calculated.

I'll go on record to say, as a former Texas teacher, that I had my hands full with students who had little English skills (and far more with parents who had zero) and/or questionable status. Knew far too many illegals working on nearby farms and ranches. These illegals don't just suck the life out of the economy, but they also regularly fail to report crimes, even those against themselves, because they worry about being deported. So they make our streets less safe.

Unfortunately... this law won't do much because already there's not enough enforcement to pick out and deport illegals. As for the K visas... you know that your I-94 expires in 90 days. If you can't get your AOS app in before that, then you should realize you're running a risk. It's talked about plenty on VJ. I don't pity them if you get picked up accidently. You'll probably be fine and sorted out in the fray anyways. Carrying your ID and marriage certificate is a good start and your NOA1 from your AOS is the wise thing to do.

Try proving your legal status after your K-1 Visa has expired and you haven't been approved for your Green Card.

It's called the I-797 which you receive once you file the I-485 to adjust status.

Surely you remeber the process, Steve? If not, check the "Guides" tab above. ;)
