I never saw Syriana but I remember 'Munich' was out at the same time and I saw that. That was pretty depressing but it was a good movie I thought and I'm glad I saw it.

I seen Syriana and thought it was very good. I didn't like the ending though it was sad and made me pissed off also.

I seen Munich also and really didn't care for it too much. Although the main character was good.

I just saw it on PPV a couple days ago and I loved it. I'll warn you that you gotta stick with it though there's a strong temptation to bail. I think I was an hour into it and still didn't have a clue where it was going!

Obviously Clooney has an agenda, but nonetheless it makes you think.

Esalaam Salut and Hello

I didn't mean care for this film...it was yet another film depicting Muslims and Islam as the enemy... :(

The storyline jumped around too much, so if you blinked for moment, you would have missed key parts...

I like the George Clooney charachter and the Emir that died in the end...I actually i wish i knew that actors name...i have seen him in several good (better) films...

The ending of course was tragic and I would have changed it into some more happier, but of course Islam has to be enemy...but in truth it did some how power and money has over run our poor World...and how if a person wants to do good then the evil powers that be will surely NOT let them...The Shaytan is always working amoung us...

I wonder when will they start making some international seen big budget films showing the truth, beauty and brilliance of Islam...???? Answer me that one! LoL

I mean this film and the whole media is why I don't watch TV much...esp while in the US...

And other then the film called the Prophet...I haven't ever seen depicting muslims, and/or arabs as anything other then terrorists barbarians.... Funny cos these same people brought us information and technologies still used to this day...hmmm?!!

I am glad it never occurred to actually see this film in the theatres, I probably would have walked out in the middle of it... And after seeing it, I didn't think to view Munich ....

Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it...

His "stage name?" is Alexander Siddig {Siddig El Fadil, born Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig El Abderahman El Mohammed Ahmed El Abdel Karim El Mahdi (he goes by "Sid") on November 21, 1965, in Sudan.}

His next movie coming out seems to be "The Nativity Story" and it's supposed to be the "true" story of the birth of the prophet 'Isa (Jesus). Sid will be portraying the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) Subhanallah!

I agree that western movies tend to portray Islam and muslims in a negative light. I don't know about this particular movie though because I just could not follow it. I tried to pay attention but it was just jumping all over the place. I don't think I'll try to watch it again. I also had no interest in seeing Munich.

I think I'll stick to reading and leave the movies alone

I'm going to read an E-book tonight "The Status of Jesus in Islam" by Dr. Rabee' bin Haadee al-Madhkhalee, translated by Islma'eel Alarcon, published by Al-Ibaanah Book Publishing inshallah.

I wasted money going to see it and wish I'd used the money to buy paint n watch it dry.. woulda been more entertaining.

I thought the trailer was very misleading and you were forever waiting for something to happen.

Having said that everyone raved about it, so maybe I either have a short attention span or I'm a dumba$$!

10 year Green Card received, Next step is citizenship urgh!

Esalaam ....

Thanks Layla... I really like that actor...also Omar Sharif (of course) and the actor that played the Arabian prince in Hidalgo..he was also in Hideous Kinky...Said Taghmaoui.

I will be looking for that film Layla..thanx for the info...

And yea, I will stick to reading...LoL

i was thinking the OPPOSITE... the WEST was seen as the evil one and subsequently master manipulators in this one IMO

I actually didnt like or appreciate the part where of course, the man in the masjid recuited poor young Pakistani Muslims to bomb the ship...

I am sure both sides have some evil doers...as no one is prefect...and yes the West was depicted as the evil doers, manipulators...but it is always the people with the money and power doing the manipulating let it be in the West or even in the East..........buuuut I didnt appreciate the refer to my religion...if it were only about "some" Muslim I would say ok, in basket there are good and bad apples...but when Islam is questioned then it is my duty to defend it... They could have choose a better place for the man to have recruited the bombers... And yes, I do realised there are some forces in this World thats use religion as way to recruite innocent and naive people to do their bidding...just my thing is... in films you always see Muslims in that role... rarely is massive suicide in Waco, Texas and Christian fanatic bombing abortion clincs shown in Hollywood films...

And of course, for any person who isnt apart of that religion and esp if the dont understand that religion, it is easy to say oooo I liked it...or ooooo it was so true.

Anyway plz dont think I am agruing with you or starting a debate/fight...just expressing my opinion...Thanks for shareing your views and listening to mine...

Peace and Blessings for everyone... (F)
