I would like to add to this that she said she saw around 15 fiancee visa ladies and 5 of them appeared to be

denied or deferred. I don't know if that is typical but it sounds like a lot; hopefully most were deferred

and can complete the missing visa qualification with the evidence requested.

She just mentioned in chat today that the husbands could come inside the waiting area but not into the interview itself.

She said she didn't talk to them much but concentrated on the spirits of her deceased parents for strength and inspiration

as she was very tired (got up at 3AM to be there early).

She was there first but got called for the last interview. In the end it was all good.

Today (Nov 30) she is scheduled to pick up the visa.

Goodbye to Wireless Road!

The visa is now in her hands!

She said there were 5 fiancees that were refused even despite the fact that they had their husbands

present during the interview process.

One who DID get her visa had another incident where the husband

wanted entry into the consulate but was refused. She calmed him down.

Best wishes to them for sorting out their details & success in the future.

Visa only took 3 months to get (24 November 2009) but there is a change of Minister of Education and

getting them to sign off on her retirement is taking LONGER than the visa journey!

We were hoping for her POE before the new year but now that seems less and less likely.:bonk::ranting:

Merry Christmas to all - she had her retirement party at the school on Christmas day

and according to Thai custom gave silk scarves to all who attended at her expense.

It was very emotional and many students cried because they would miss her.

She actually won the door prize! It was a refrigerator but she donated it to the

school janitors for their use. I'm so proud of her. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

POE December 30 and planning to get married the next day near the Brooklyn Bridge.

Congrats!! Very happy for you two :)

Good luck on AOS!

Hope you have a good as conclusion to your VJ as we did (thus far).

We got married at the City Clerk's office in NYC on Dec. 31 and

then went for dinner with friends in Chinatown which is walking distance.

We don't have internet at home for the time being but I will check up on

what's going on from time to time. She's got me working harder than

I work at work but that to me is pleasure. Not much time to socialize

but that will come later.

All the best,

The latest part of our "Wireless Road" saga took place at JFK today:

I-94 Foulup Solved

One more comment that was not included there, was that when the amended I-94 was placed in her passport and returned to her,

the K-1 Visa page was manually crossed out (as if a small child had scrawled an annoying doodle across it with a black pen).

Presumably that was to prevent us from re-selling the fiancée visa on the black market...

In any case, we have a bona-fide I-94 with her name correctly spelled and are good to go for the AOS!
