Hi Everyone,

So our case is still under review, but got an email with a letter attached saying that our case is still under review....how long do "reviews" take place?!

Hi Cowgirl - I got a similar letter last week, but it wasn't very useful. Mine didn't say that they were specifically looking at my husband's case, but that they received the docs I sent, it was still pending, and that a decision won't be made until the review is complete. I would think that reviews would be a 15 minute to half hour exercise - an hour at the most. I can't imagine what is taking so long for you, so sorry you're still waiting. You would think they could plow through these things in a fairly quick manner, but I guess not.

Hi Lenie!

Well atleast now you know they have the documents and they are reviewing it, right?! I remember when you were calling DOS they said that your case was under AP. Now when you call DOS do they say that its under review? Isn't it weird that when i was calling for my husband's case last week they told me it was under review, but when you were calling they told you that your case was in AP, even though you got the letter last week?! How disconnected can they be?! Lets just hope the visas show up in the mail soon!

Hi Cowgirl!

I did figure they had the documents since we had sent them Fed Ex and generally, I wasn't too worried about that part of it. They did say that he was in AP AFTER I got that letter, so who knows? Quite frankly, I think that maybe the DOS calls everything "AP" even though that is considered different from domicile. I agree that they are disconnected...it's crazy! I do hope we both hear something soon...I'm sure we will!

Yes, they call everything AP - which is correct. Around here (VJ) "administrative processing" is normally used when referring to some long long long wait for FBI checks etc etc

In truth, AP is everything for waiting for your file to finish up at NVC to waiting for them to review any type of info - can be AP for 2 minutes, 2 weeks, 2 month or 2 years.

So basically, AP is not (normally) some horrible long drawn out wait for a review.
