Hi Everyone, so i called the senator's office last Friday and they told me to wait one more week before they will inquire again...i'll be calling this Friday for sure! Lenie, any updates on your case?

No update yet on mine, but I did send a letter to my congressperson (I needed to send a signed release) this past Friday, so I am hoping I will hear back from them this week. If something happens by the end of the month, I will be ecstatic!

You're in an American consulate...so no, French won't do a thing for you.

I didn't think so... but after reading that with my friend she seemed to think otherwise. Good then, I get annoyed with the French/English politics in Montreal.

See profile for our K-1 Visa/AOS story from 2010-2011Apparently we love USCIS/NVC so much we left and are doing it again! This time giving IR-1 a whirl. Rock on immigrators.

07/09/2014 sent in IR-1 packet to Chicago Lockbox

07/17/2014 check cashed by USCIS

12/30/2014 Case received by NVC

03/23/2015 Received Case and Inv # from NVC after many calls and bogus excuses.

03/24/2015 AOS payment accepted by NVC

04/09/2015 IV payment finally accepted by NVC after the set the wrong fee and took weeks to correct it.

*many more delays thanks to the agency processing my fingers prints to the RCMP and the post office losing our mail*

05/20/2015 Packet sent to NVC via UPS, eta May 28.

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Thanks, Coralie. Have a good POE!

Hi everyone!

I called DOS today and they told me that they started reviewing my husband's case this past Tuesday (meaning that they opened up the additional documents- proof of domicile which we sent in March 30th for the second time). Anyone have a clue how long it takes them after reviewing the docs to decide? Thanks!

Congrats! We sent our stuff back on March 19th and when I called the DOS today, they said he was still in AP (although I don't think domicile is considered "AP" is it?). I guess they haven't started looking at our case yet, unfortunately. Anyway, I have tried to get my congressperson involved, but I have not heard back from them - guess I know who I'm NOT voting for ha ha.

Hi Lenie!

Thanks! I think the people at DOS use AP as a generic response. I actually just called my Senator's office to see if they can inquire again about our case (last time they did that was April 1st or so and they were told that Montreal wanted more documents which we had just sent end of March). They said they would be happy to send in a request(they are the best!). I think you should call up your congressperson's office and start bombarding them with your questions and hopefully that will get things moving. Wish you the best of luck.

Thanks Cowgirl! I had sent a letter to my congress person last week (they needed a signed release), then I e-mailed the immigration woman yesterday, but got no response. Now that I've given enough time, I will start the bombardment!

I called and emailed every day for 30 days just about!!! Im sure my congressmans aid got so sick of me! I also emailed montreal everyday.

I wouldnt worry about AP in Mtl... I thought I was lost in the deep dark void that is AP, and BOOM--visa!

I will keep you guys (cowgirl and lenie) in my thoughts and prayers! Dont loose hope!! Show these people how much you want your visa! (F)

Thanks! It seems like we're the only ones who haven't received a visa...as if this process hasn't been frustrating enough!

Interestingly, pucca23 had their interview yesterday and although the U.S. citizen had never lived in the U.S. - they were not even asked to show any documentation regarding reestablishing domicile.

Not sure what they sent to NVC, according to some older posts, it was just basic stuff - SSN, lease with Aunt, tax returns.
