While Alla and I were on Skype together this morning, I received the following email from the Embassy:

RE: Singed Letter to Embassy - Case MOS2009683008

Thank you for the info. Her visa is approved and should be issued

shortly

Sincerely,

Public Liaison Unit

Consular Section

US Embassy, Moscow

Wonderful news Phil. Congratulations on the effort and work both of you put into this. It is not by accident your visa is approved. You proved your case and received a well deserved visa.

Now the hard part begins. She will arrive shortly and it will test your patience and strength like nothing you ever experienced. Never forget what you did to be together. Sh ewill need your help for a lot of things, to understand a different way of life (balance the checkbook, for example) Drive? I kno wAlla already drives and has a license (my Alla also had a Russian international driver's license and she could barely keep the car on the pavement LOL)

Anyway, congratulations and best of luck to you. I hope we can all get together when we are in the Chicago area.

Tnx buddy. And a big thank you to your Alla. Her meeting up with my Alla was at a very important part of our relationship and provided validity to the life she can expect here in the US. I am indebted to her for that.

And my Alla wants to visit "Nee-a-Gara Falls" and we would like to visit you guys also. I've never been to Montreal also.

Yes I am ready for the whirlwind to begin.

Yes, congratulations. it is also nice for us soon-to-be-interviewed to know that even if the initial interview doesn't produce the visa, proper follow-thru can make it happen!

It is a great thing about this forum, each person's first-hand experience adds to the collective knowledge and gives us that follow a better perspective and game plan!

Hey, Montreal is great! She will need her green card for that. An AP will not not do it as the AP is not a visa to enter Canada, it's a pass to return to the US and Russians need visas for Canada. We are about 7 hours drive from Nee-a-gra falls. But once she has the green card, yes, downtown Montreal is about an hour from us.

Skiing is great here also.
