I still have trouble buying medicine Maureen.

You would think by now I have one brand I tend to stick to, but not necessarily.

What i like for me isn't always what the kids will stomach.

I hope your little girl gets better by Thursday.

What's up peeps?

Just making my list of what needs to be done today.

My turkey dinner is tomorrow night with my hubby, sister and kids.

Mom is out of town and well Thursday sis and I are doing a very untraditional Thanksgiving that entails...a whole lot of relaxin and a little of nothing

enjoy the day

I am having a 'missing Jordan' moment everyday too.

that is because I miss my boy, my son Jordan :crying:

I haven't been to Maroc since March 2008.

Hubby plans on going back in April/May of this year. Not looking like I can join him, but we'll have to see :(

Eid al adha here in the states is on Friday. It's the holiday where you slaughter the sheep in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail. But it's not only one day, this is Dhul al Hajj where the pilgrims are doing the Hajj rituals. The last day of the Hajj rituals is slaughtering the sheep, which we also take part in.

YAY for Tuesday!! One more day and I'm freee :P:dance:

@ Angels and Demons...LOVED IT. We saw it a few months ago so I could watch it again. We have The Hangover and Jennifer's Body (with that hawt chick every guy is in love w/ from Transformers... ) for the weekend. Looking forward to seeing them.

Sandrilla...your post about the "egyptian holiday" made me giggle and it reminded me of a funny with my gf Leanna a few years ago when I was getting ready for a trip to Egypt around Thanksgiving time. We were driving to the store to do some shopping for my trip with another gf and her daughter. Leanna said "We are going to miss you at the big Thanksgiving dinner this year. What do they cook for Thanksgiving in Egypt?" I couldn't stop laughing long enough to answer her and my gfs daughter (10 yrs old at the time) said to her, "Auntie Leanna, you do know that Thanksgiving is a US holiday, right?" Bwahahahaha...we still tease her to this day! :P

Well, on a teasing note...this will be my first year cooking a Thanksgiving meal alone with out my Dad around. I'm sad and these holidays are going to be rough without him. He always made such delicious meals and worked hard on holidays to please everyone! However, my hubby is afraid of my turkey cooking skills! So he said we need a "back up" plan in case I turn our turkey to dust!:bonk:

I hope everyone is having a good tuesday - Good for you two M4M and Ya F - my healthy breakfast consisited of a few cups of coffee and my exercise was chasing a toddler around the house trying to keep her from removing her clothes as soon as I put them on. :P

Did someone say Thanksgiving is this week? I'm so busy at work I literally havent even thought about it. Good thing we are going to my friend's parents house so all I have to take is an appetizer and a chocolate dessert....

I have been getting those feelings a little more often lately too Amoon. It's been almost 3 years since I've visited my husband's country.

I hope that we get to go visit Morocco next year after the baby is born. My husband's family hasn't even got to meet our first child yet. :(

I didn't know you were expecting...congrats

boy our MENA folks sure do "get busy"

What's doing Sara, long time girlfriend :D

you deserve a break, have a happy thanksgiving

oh Annie you are the party queen, surely you can handle it.

I find Thanksgiving to be one of the easiest holidays for cooking.

You just need to cook alot.

That spinach casserole Tamara posted looks yummy, you gonna make that?

oh thanks for that info Kenza

I thought EID was last week

I know about the sacrifice and all. I didn't know they do Hajj this time too.

So they do Hajj 2x a year or just whenever they can go?

So the last day of the Hajj is when people slaughter the sheep?

Hajj is once a year, but if you go to Mecca any other time to do some of the similar rituals then you are doing Umrah. Yes, the last day of Hajj is Eid too and that's when everyone slaughters a sheep.
