So did we and same thing - sure didn't sign up to meet anyone! How do people inworld react to you being a RL couple and lasting so long? Are you still inworld much, or have you moved on from SL now? There's just something about being able to log in when you need a cuddle and see your avies give each other a hug. lol...

I'm just wondering how most the people on here met their lovers initially...over the internet or in person? I ask because I wonder the number of couples the consulate deals with that met over the internet as oppossed to meeting in person initially. I met mine on a dating site and then we met in person. It makes me wonder at times if the consulate sees couples that meet online at first as more of a red flag than not. I don't see why they would, granted that I'd expect most of them met online.

I have almost a hundreed filipina friends who are married to foreigners and like me they also met their husbands online. I meet him online but not a dating site.We been chatting for over 3 years everyday before he came to the Philippines to meet me in person. Our relationship with God's blessing is going stronger ever and lovelier with our 16 month old baby boy.

We actually started a group on SL called Crossing Borders for people doing the same thing we are...taking SL relationships to RL. Haven't been inworld a lot lately because my VERY slow internet connection makes doing anything almost impossible. A few of the people we have known over the yrs there are coming to our wedding in Feb. We may put out blue and pink balls on the dance floor for them, at the reception. LOL.

Met my SO in yahoo chat....the firs thing we both said to each other (at almost the same time) was how neither one of us was interested in any kind of relationship...lmao....look how that turned out...

January 2009 - K-1 Denied by the consulate

January 2011 - Moved to India - Yikes!

October 2011 - DCF filing rejected by overzealous employee at the embassy

December 2011 - Tourist visa denied (not surprising)

March 2012 - CR1/IR1 process started

May 1, 2012 - RFE and some of our information was entered into the computer wrong by the CSC

Read about all the shenanigans of my relationship at American Punjaban PI

We met online over 6.5 years ago. :)

Funnily enough, we were just talking the other day about our first phone conversation, when I was all giggles and shyness. Now I get to giggle while snuggled up together, and that's the best thing that I can have.

Actually the first time we met in person, he had brought a pink and blue styrofoam ball with him...made me crack up laughing.

We met online almost 7 years ago and it was so funny because I picked her from a user

list of an "MSN online club" that neither of us really had any interest in participating in.

I had dated Asians before & even married one but I wasn't scouting for Asians as most

of my online friends at that time were not Asian. I just saw her nationality as Thai and

I had never met anyone from Thailand so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I just put out a chat invite and she accepted & the rest is history.

It was a needle in a haystack/shot in the dark situation, nothing planned at all.

I don't think that had anything to do with the main probing questions at her interview at all,

but I haven't got the complete report yet.

no they don't see having met on the internet per se as a red flag, because they know that that is a very common means of meeting people nowadays

we made friends 15 years ago. There was no internet then! No fax machine also. We used to write as penpals using snail mails. Then I got a fax machine and I used to think it was the greatest invention of mankind... in some years soon dear inventors made internet, messenger and webcam... may god bless them all loool

David and I met online in June of 2005 at a poetry site we were both frequenting at the time. He is a native of Britain and has visited me here in the States four times since we met. We started the fiance' visa process in November of 2008 and are entering the last leg of this part of our journey, now. He has his medical on November 26; and his interview at the American embassy in London on December 18. We are hoping/praying/wishing for a late winter or early spring wedding. LMAO at some of the comments concerning when others find out where you met your significant other! Good luck to all of us and a treat to find a niche where others like us are congregating!
