I know someone out there must have a saved copy of their AOS Interview checklist.

I am about to start gathering all our stuff for AOS and I am hoping some lovely VJ'er out there has their list saved and would be nice enough to paste it here.

I know this question has probably been asked 10,000 times, but I just want to make sure nothing has changed in terms of what we have to bring with us to the interview-which ot my understanding is pretty much every single piece of anything you have ever used thus far. lol.

I have just put my package together in a binder using clear photo and document sleeves( I made a second copy for the interview in case they want to keep anything) My Interview is August 30. Also, let me know if I should add anything to my list attached.

I did the same thing as cali, I had everything organized in two binders with the little clear document sleeves. Don't forget to make copies of anything that you only have an original of. There were several documents that I'd forgotten to bring copies of that our immigration officer wanted to keep and add to her file - I wouldn't let her keep them because I knew I'd need them in a couple of years when we go to get the 10-year green card. Don't let them keep any originals if they're not going to be replaceable, you never know when you'll need them again!

Here's what we brought to our interview:

Passport and state ID for US citizen

Passport, EAD, and state ID for AOS beneficiary

Birth certificate of US citizen

Translation of birth certificate of AOS beneficiary

Marriage certificate

Birth certificate for joint sponsor

Updated I-864 and copy of 2006 taxes for US citizen

Updated I-864 and copy of 2006 taxes for joint sponsor

Copies of all forms filed and NOAs.

Taxes for myself and the joint sponsor from 2002-2005

Copy of lease for current apartment

Certificate of coverage for health care from my husband's employer, showing me as a beneficiary

Letter from my husband's employer stating that he is currently employed

Letter from my father's employer stating that he is currently employed

Bank statements from our joint account from when it was opened - present

Phone records from 2002-present

Greyhound bus tickets from when we lived about an hour apart and visited each other on weekends (2004-2005)

Plane and train tickets from when we went to Venezuela so I could meet his family (2004)

Letters/correspondence/invitations/etc. addressed to us

Over 100 photos dating from 2002 to present

Receipts from major purchases (wedding rings, couch, living room table, bed)

Emails from 2003-present

Wow! Hikaru has it all. however, donot forget that AOS interview based on marriage is all about proving a marriage union / relationship. The IO during our interview wanted only tangible evidence to prove that,we had evrything at hand but he only wanted three things: marriage photos, joint health and joint financials. you have put evrything and wait for the specific thing he/she wants. I'm wondering if having copies of our credit card together will work. Statements do not include both our names.

We have bank statements with both our names on it, and I have life insurance with my husband as the beneficiary.

We do not have health insurance yet (can't afford it).

So, as far as finances go we have 2 bank accounts with our names on the statements, 2 credit cards (same account #), and life insurance with beneficiares. We just moved so have no utility bills yet with our names on it.

We have our lease with both our names, and car insurance with both our names. Our AOS interview comes only 5 months after I arrived so there has not been a lot of time for me to get established.

I have a letter of endorsement from our local YMCW where I have been volunteering. I also have a letter from my new employer since getting my EAD.

We have photos, letters from family and friends, wedding pictures etc.

We have a cell phone bill with both our names on it. This should be enough I hope.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Just out of curiosity...why would the CO want the US citizen's birth certificate, emails, plane tickets and such? Did you send photos of you and your SO while you were engaged, and if so, why? Like I said, I'm just curious. We don't have THIS much stuff and didn't have a lot for our K-1 yet we got approved anyway.

Now I'm starting to freak again....geesh!

We all know how real our love is but we need to prove this to the IO who has no clue about us. If you entered on a K1 you have already had an intial interview and suppose no need for some of these items. My AOs interview will be my first and only interview. (at least for a few years)

Anyways, I guess you can never have too much information. I'd rather be over prepared than under. I think hikaru posted a very complete and useful list.

My husband and I did this when we sent in some supporting documents for our RFE, as our statements don't have both our names on it either.

Because I'm ####### retentive, pretty much. I would rather be overprepared than underprepared. My husband entered on an F1 (student visa) and we met while we were both college students. Like cali said, if your case is based on a K1 visa rather than a work or student visa, you've already proved to immigration once that you have a legitimate relationship. I included so much info because we wanted to show how we met and developed our relationship so there would be no doubt that we're for real.

That, and I just like making a lot of trips to Fedex/kinkos to make copies.
