Parking in Montreal

Title says it all. I've checked out the consulate, and there is an underground parkade-is there any reason interviewees can't park there? if we can, how much does it cost?

I do recall seeing parked cars along Rue. St-Alexandre, which is the side-street that the front doors of the consulate are situated on. It's a one way street, headed in the direction towards Rene-Levesque.

I don't recall meters or anything like that, though I imagine they're there.

The underground lot I don't know about - our car was parked a couple of blocks away, in the underground lot below the convention center, where we were directed by our hotel.

yeah I guess I could probably use the meters. I'd just as soon park inside though. I thought there was a spot on the consulate website about parking, but I can't find it....

Looked through their website, googled "parking at us consulate in Montreal" and browsed some of the docs at the travel.gov website, but I couldn't seem to find anything that you may have come across before, sorry.

If all fails there's a mall really close to the consulate that should have ample parking. Although at 6am you probably won't have any issues parking on the street.

I parked just down the street from the consulate. If you turn onto Rue. St-Alexandre(which is a One Way), look for the Green P parking. You can also get access to the parking lot on the next parallel street(can't remember the name).

It's not a flat rate fee. You pay for however much time you may need...I think you get 3 options. I paid for the whole day, since I didn't know how long we'd be there. It's really close to the consulate...I'd recommend it.

There is ample parking off Place Phillips (one block from the consulate) in the lot next to Le Square Phillips hotel. You can walk directly to the consulate from the lot (at least you could from what I saw). Rue Ste-Alexandre is one way going from Ste-Catherines towards Rene-Levesque. but Place Phillips is two-way.
