Hello all, I wanted to ask this question for some time now... The timeline for K1 Visa thru CSC is something me and my fiance watch daily because as you all understand, it is really hard to be apart for so long :( . Why is it that one day they show August 25th and the next August 19? Or like last week when it went back and forth a few times between August 17th and August 21st or so.

Does visajourney.com not have an accurate updated processing date? How do they know when to advance and what date is being processed? It gets so frustrating when you get your hopes up everytime you see the date jump 2-3 days and then you see it jump back about 6 days...

Can someone explain what is going on? Should I stop looking at these ridiculous dates?

Hi there. I figure I should be the one to answer first. The processing date ranges (estimated approval dates) are based off of a statistical measurement of people that are currently approved. As such the estimate may vary slightly day to day as the raw data comes in. This is normal. You will see on average the date range is correct and that the variability should be fairly small. There may be some improvements we can make in the code to reduce the estimate variation and your posts has my mind churning on possible methods (add into the estimate a consideration of the long term moving avg to "denoise" the minor variations. :P. I hope any changes I make (open to suggestions) prove helpful!

I know you are so anxious for your approval (we were too!)

No offense to Ewok, but I found the date it predicted to be completely useless. It was ranging from April to May to June, and we were approved mid March. It was a pleasant surprise.

However, that chart on Igor's list right next to the last 15 approved was a VERY good indicator.

You can watch that from now on, and you'll see as the bars go up for each month once they get ~75% approved they move on to the next month. When the bar for the month before you gets near the top and the bar for your month starts to go up, then you can look for yours to be in the mail soon! (or at least an RFE). In fact, it looks like August is about wrapped up and they are going to start working on September soon.

thanks for the prompt/great answers. I hope we are talking about the same thing here, you guys are discussing graphs but I'm talking about the "Approximate Processing Dates for Common Forms" area under visajourney.com/timeline/ on the right side of the page. Are we talking about the same thing? :D BTW our papers were received on September 14...I've been counting down the days...ugh it's so hard.

Capt Ewok I don't care what they say about you in the "Suggestions" forum, I think you're a good guy :)

Excellent feedback on Igors list. We had a few improvements on the timeline estimated approval dates in the last few months... I think it is excellent with the feedback on igors list. I can definately use that information to improve the estimates (not sure why it did not cross my mind). Also the "estiamted" forn process dates can change to be more like the estimates approval date (so use a range). Stating an exact day is problematic as there is variance. The date range is far more statisticly correct and based on meaninglful data. I will make some updates asap to all these (not igors). I look forward to more feedback. Making this work as best as possible is the goal! :)

OK...well, maybe I jumped the gun a bit - if there have been changes made, recently then my March experience isn't much good to you, is it?

Anyway, I still like the graph because it is more visusal and can show the general trends much more clearly. I think a lot of people don't see it because Igor's always seems buried - it's at least two clicks further than the estimated dates for approval.

looking at the graphs under Igor's list there seems to be 109 days average of wait for CSC. We are quickly approaching that deadline :D 2 maybe 3 weeks to go
