So we're going to the in-laws tonight for dinner and they want to give us their gifts BUT we can't give them their gifts because one of our gifts to them is a wii game, for a wii that my FIL/BIL have not received as it is going to be Christmas.

That's fine, let's just exchange gifts at the holiday party on sunday!

OH NO WE CAN'T DO THAT! We need to have ANOTHER dinner together next monday to exchange gifts properly.

Yay the holidays haven't even started and I'm already sick of the in-laws.

Why do we have to make everything such a difficult and tedious process?? The purpose of tonight was so we wouldn't have to do it again... and we're going to have to do it again... THREE TIMES!!!!!!

And you have never seen so many emails passed back and forth:

"So you want to exchange gifts tonight?"

"I don't know.. maybe we can just do Ethan's?"

"Okay well maybe we can do Ethan's and yours and then you can give us ours after the holidays"

"Well do you want to do that??"

INDECISIVENESS IS ONE MY BIGGEST PET PEEVES! JUST PICK A WAY TO DO IT AND DO IT BUT DON'T FARKING DRAG CHRISTMAS OUT LIKE THIS!!!

So we opened the presents.

I got bath stuff and chocolate.

My fiance got... chocolate (Which I'll probably eat )

My mom in law got those yummy Cadbury cookies. She's sadly not going to eat them though, she doesn't eat sugary stuff.

My fiance's uncle got a box of chocolates, he loves that stuff.

And my fiance and I got as a combined gift the DVD set for that Planet Earth series. I LOVE that series, it's so interesting! I honestly thought at first my parents re-gifted their extra House season 1 to me because I got them 1-4 cause it was cheaper than getting 2-4 for them

So I just found out from the MIL that the WIL wants us to have breakfast at her place on Friday. I have to figure out a way to say "#### no" elegantly. Seriously, why would I purposely destroy my Christmas Day? Of course, Id like to think I was invited because she is trying to make amends with me... which is likely bullshit and definitely not the case.

On a separate note me and the hubby would have been married for a month on Christmas Day! I looked at him this morning and said, "Can you believe we've alreay been married for almost a month??? It seems waaaay longer..." :P

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Cute! I love the Kermit thing USPS has going on here! For some reason it seems like only things coming from Denver County here in CO get the stamp...

I got lucky with my in-laws... the only one I can't stand is my SIL's husband.. he is a jack-A$$ but only towards his wife and kids.... everyone else he treats ok but I hate how he treats his family..

I was luck too. Her mother, father, step-dad, sister, cousins all rocked and I got along with all them them really well. It's just that the ex wife on the other hand I didn't get along with ha ha.

But they are just keeping their distance now and no longer contacting me and visa versa since the divorce was finalized in Oct. Sucks becuause her mother would give me really cool sweaters that I loved...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM Tamales on christmas day are so great, especially if you know where to go. It's going to be a much different Christmas for Mel this year. She keeps telling me "It just doesn't feel like x-mas without snow".

The inlaws of my fiance's sister are making them from scratch!

I'm looking forward to them.

every Christmas since I have been here we have homemade tamales at Christmas and every year I don't like them... then this year at the Christmas dinner we went to last Friday my FIL had made tamales and they were better then all the other years because he didn't put as much masa in them... I even had two ...lol

oh and they only ever serve tamales for Christmas.. but this year they are planning on making poloze or albondigas soup and the hubby and I are going to bring some Chicken tortilla soup..

Okay back from the inlaws nice dinner. Yummy pasta... already to start packing on the holiday pounds. :P

Got an awesome immersion blender, a panini grill and my husband got a nice new digital camera. Ethan got legos, a flyers shirt, a Phillies ruiz shirt and a baseball bat.

Leaving for Canada in the morning, we decided to take my car instead of shoveling out the echo.

Next time I type I will probably be in Canada. :D

My gosh, Christmas is just around the corner! Doing some holiday shopping today with the MIL (sometimes I think she does this so I dont die of boredom in the house  )

I went to Joannes yesterday and saw that all their holiday decorations were 70% off!!! I think I will buy our Christmas decors now ;)

If you and your family are going home or driving faaar away to celebrate the holidays, I wish you all a safe trip!

I am watching the morning news.

Did you know that Canada exports around 2 million Christmas trees to the U.S. every year? So if you go to buy a tree this year, it may well be from Canada!

The segment was actually about a study this person wants to do on why some Balsam Firs drop their needles so quickly. Apparently keeping your tree in water etc really has no effect. Some trees naturally keep their needles for around 75 days, some just start dropping within the first couple of days.

At work, in addition to doing a potluck, we did a cookie exchange. We all bought/made 2 dozen cookies and filled each other's Christmas tin with one of our own and then left the others on a plate to munch on the rest of the day. We all went home with a lovely assortment of home-baked goodness. It was fab. :)
