My mom called me just a while ago to tell me she finished her shopping...

One of her presents to my husband and son are: matching Christmas sweaters.

 how cute is that!? I hope you take some pictures!

Another Christmas party tonight. Its a work party for a company I don't work for and my husband doesn't work for. I'm not really sure what the deal is but I show up for the free food (and maybe the alcohol :P)

Was supposed to go to the inlaws tonight but with the snow that fell today they cancelled until monday. I love all the parties that happen around Christmas! It's so fun and festive!

Just got back from my husband's work Christmas Party. It was great fun - lots of good food and company - at the home of one of the Directors. The Nanaimo bars and Cherry Surprises were big hits with everyone as well. Someone made these great stuffed jalopeno peppers that I really want to try sometime - they were SO GOOD!

They had a gift exchange that was hilarious. Everyone drew a number and opened a gift in order of their number. They had a choice, however, of claiming an already opened gift instead, and the person whose gift they took could then take anyone else's gift or open another unopened one. There were a number of gift cards - Barnes&Noble, 2 Longhorn Steak House cards, a Visa gift card and the Olive Garden - well these things passed hands almost a dozen times! What a hoot! We got a Cocoa and S'Mores Chocolate gift set with 4 mugs, several different types of cocoa mixes, and the makings for S'Mores - marshmallows, chocolate bars and graham wafers. Just what I need - more calories, hehehe!

Man, that party I went to last night was terrible. We all met and took a bus up to Blackhawk in the mountains where they have all the casinos. It was cool at first, we had some food, the ride was smooth, and the casino part was pretty fun, we all went our separate ways and the inlaws took us out to a really nice steak dinner. But on the way back, ugh. Everyone was so drunk and loud! At one point someone took their clothes off, yay. And then a couple behind us started fighting really loud shooting swear words back and forth every 2 seconds. It was insane!

My mom sent us presents about a week ago, and the box says "Do Not Open Until Christmas".

You think I should wait, or open them now while no one's looking? :P

My fiance's family doesn't celebrate Christmas (to the American degree, gift exchanging etc) so... I figured maybe I could open them early.

Well, since they don't celebrate Christmas the same way, why not say they are Winter Solstice gifts - that way you can open them on the Winter Solstice - tomorrow! :D

For those who are looking for Christmas crackers, they have them at Cost Plus World Market - we were just there today. Lots of good stuff - got my chocolate covered Digestive biscuits - love those things!

We finally got our tree up!!! And tossed in a few ornaments while evacuating the home premises too :P

We are currently at the in-laws and prolly will stay here because parking in the city has become unbearable with all the snow still blocking the side streets... so hubby decided its best to evacuate the house and stay at his parents' for easy parking.

Unfortunately their computer is a bit old and does not have the slot to put SD cards in it, so I cant upload my pictures. But woohoo for Christmas trees!
