On November 12 my wife and I had our AOS interview. The Officer asked a few questions about stuff on our paperwork. We answered all with ease. She then asked us to show her our pictures. We handed her a few photo albums and copies of each. She picked up the copies which were stapled, etc. She flipped thru them and asked us questions about each photo. "Who is this" "where was this" "oh it looks like that was fun!" She was very nice, laughed at several of our photos, (silly ones), and then said this:

"Well, you should expect either an approval letter in the mail or a request for documents within a week."

She didn't say "you're approved" or "you're denied". She didn't seem to have questions about the validity of our relationship as we handed her copious amounts of documentation from bank statements, to pay stubs, to netflix mailings with both our names on them.

We have not heard anything. It has been longer than a week, almost 2 weeks. Nothing is updated online and I'm freaking out.

Any input? Did I get approved? Did I not? Anyone had this experience?

It happens all the time - I'd give it several more days (maybe a bit longer) before freaking out too much.

If you think about it.. is there any reason you would have been denied? Probably not - you guys aren't scam artist (I presume) so probably not a lot to worry about - if they need something, they'll send a notice - otherwise it is very likely the next time you hear from them, it will be good news.

The case status online may not show any change. It it not always reliable. If the interviewing officer said you will get an RFE or approved then why would you expect a denial?

Waiting is hard, but now you must wait for the RFE or approval letter.

PS. You should consider correcting your timeline as VJ uses this information to calculate processing times.
