Hello everyone!!

I have found visajournery very useful through this process, it is good to finally be apart of it!

I was wondering if anyone knew what to expect after we've received packet 3. My fiance already posted it back to the UK Embassy, but I read somewhere that it will take 10-12 weeks for the Embassy to process our file! Is this true? I was wondering if anyone had a rough idea of when to expect the interview and how long it takes after the interview till my fiance will be in the U.S. I know its a tough question to ask, but I'm slightly confused by what happens next and how long it will be! If anyone can help us out with this, it would be great!!

Thank you every much fellow vjers!!!

You'd better check your UK mates for response times after posting packet3 - that looks more like a question for the US Embassy & Consulate Forum

but you also may look for a UK-specific thread in the "Off Topic" forum.

For us in Thailand, she mailed it on a Monday and we got the "packet4" email the VERY NEXT DAY and her interview was scheduled a WEEK from the packet4 date.

These times will vary a lot from mine as a "best case scenario" so you should check the experience of the UK filers.

Also, you can go to the database and set it to display only UK data and sort it by Packet3 returned and see how long the UK filers took for their packet4 and interview to be scheduled.

UK filers - sorted by packet3 received

Learn to use the database, especially the country-specific choice and the triangles for sorting at the top of each column.

Best of luck.

You will notice in the database you are at the top of the list, and someone below you got their packet4 in one day (most don't).

You may also fill in your NVC received date in your timeline. That may be hard to pin down but I put in an estimated date and I

think most do that. My NOA2 date was Oct. 14 and they sent it to the consulate on the 16th so I put the NVC received date as Oct. 15.

It's more important that the timeline is complete as possible, except for the RFE dates which may or may not have occurred.

London says 4-6 weeks from receipt to getting packet 4, they seem to be processing them around the 4 week mark at the moment, and generally at the end of the week for some bizarre reason!

If it takes them about a week to log it, then 4 weeks lands you right in the middle of the christmas holidays. They may try and get it out before then, but I'd look to January at least for the interview. Never know, might get lucky!

Have you got all the documents needed for the interview in hand?

Don't forget that the medical now needs to be scheduled to take place at least a week before the interview.

After I sent P3 I spent a lot of time looking at previous people's time lines. In seems to be between 3-6 weeks from P3 being "logged" to interview. Some people get lucky and it only takes a couple of weeks.

If you go to the UK forum you and to the 2009 interview thread you can read more people's timelines and get a better idea.

Just to clarify, it was 17 days after returning packet 3 that I receieved my interview date. My interview was scheduled for 18 days later. So returning packet 3 to interview was 17 + 18 = 35 days (5 weeks).

(I'd edit my original post if I could see the 'edit' button, but my eyesight is apparently letting me down right now).

6 and a bit weeks from sending back P3 to the interview and subsequent approval for us.

I'd say 4-6 average for a K1 is about right.

It seems like they last scheduled interviews on November 13th. Before that it had been October 13th. Hurry and get your P3 forms and checklist in, if you haven't already. My fiance had his delivered on November 12th, and they didn't seem to open them until Nov 19th. DOS has told us he is eligible and we are just waiting to be scheduled. I am guessing mid-Dec we will find out? ;)
