hi all! i am not sure if this is the right forum to post but will give it a try.

i lost my wallet at the airport going home to my city (im in the philippines right now)... everythings there including my credit cards (i reported them already) my GC, cash, DL... etc... does anybody experience this before and how they handle the GC thing. perhaps i need to call the embassy if i can get thru to them anyways and ask for help... what i have right now is my philippine passport i also have my expired GC (2 yr conditional) and my letter of extension noa1... would this be enough if i decided to file it in the US or i really need to get a GC here in the philippines... thank you in advance!!!

I would strongly suggest to contact the US embassy right away about that.

Call Embassy to get the transportation letter. I hope you filed a police report - may be useful to have it once you get back into the US.

thanks a lot!!!

just got an email from the embassy and as much as i wanted to go as cheap as possible they want me to be there in person... so i have to fly to manila and back to my city. heres the email for those who might find this one helpful:

In response to your inquiry, three weeks before your flight date to the U.S., report to our customer service window, Window 35, U.S. Embassy, Manila, and apply for a boarding/transportation letter. The boarding letter will allow you to return to the U.S. without a green card. When reporting to Window 35, bring with you your passport, any ID's issued in the U.S., i.e., drivers license, state ID, etc., a big brown envelope, two U.S. passport-sized pictures, affidavit of loss of green card, police report of the loss of green card, certification of arrival into the Philippines from the airline office, and if available, boarding pass, baggage claim and/ot unused ticket. The processing of the boarding letter takes 10 days. The window is open Mondays to Fridays, except holidays, between the hours of 0800 and 1200. Service is on first-come-first-serve basis. You may apply for a boarding letter when you get to the U.S.
