Just keep yourself busy, work, remodeling, cleaning, making your house ready for your SO. Just keep busy, but also talk, plan, where you wan to take her and show her/him, if they will be going to college find out about that or ESl classes, or finding driving schools if they can't drive. The actually longest and hardest part I think is waiting for them to come once they get visa approval. My Natasha got approved on the 13 and six days later got it in delieverd by DHL however she needs to finish Novemeber at work and needs time to straighten things out so these past days have been agonizing and to me much more slow than anything in this process. Just keep busy.

Exercise yourself. You produce endorphin while doing exercises, and that hormone is "the hapiness" hormone. Believe me, sometimes a 30min walk can "solve" your problems.

A few weeks ago, my fiance started working out daily. I definitely think it's had a major positive effect on him coping with the distance: he seems a lot less stressed out and overwhelmed than he was. And his health is gaining from the whole thing too, which is always good to know. I think it's a great tip for people to try. It passes the time, if nothing else. My fiance has an exercise bike, so he can even work out in bad weather. He plays videogames, watches movies, reads, or listens to music whilst he's on the bike.

Was going to suggest, if you're not against video game violence, to both get an xbox. Granted, I'm biased because I loving gaming, but OMG we have so much fun playing co-op (where you're connected via the internet to the same game) on all sorts of games. Lots have female characters, and my SO genuinely gets a kick out of having to 'keep an eye out' for me. Makes him feel all protectorish, or something! lol...

We've literally been reduced to tears of laughter playing some games, once where his character has picked up mine (albeit graphicswise I was a 7ft black guy) and carried me down the street over his shoulder, chasing after whoever it was who ran me over shouting, "hey! dude! think you can run my woman over and get away with it!??" lol... maybe you had to be there but it still makes me laugh 2 years on.

You can rent games from blockbuster so it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. And you talk via a mic, so there's that too.

We joke that we're going to have to get another console and TV set up once I move because playing split screen just isn't as much fun as co-op in a lot of games. My kid's going to have the hangout with her friends at our place. The kid next door to us already thinks Ry is a demi-God, because he talks gaming with him. And the rest of her buddies along the street are always astounded that her mum plays on the xbox - isn't that what guys do?? They always start giggling when I open the door and have my headset on and controller in hand...

Yup. LMAO

But seriously, I sealed the deal on a interview last Friday, when one of the interviewers asked me what I meant by 'gaming' under my hobbies and interests section of my resume. I replied, console gaming, mainly. He asked which console, I told him the 360. He asked which games... I paused, coz well it was a job in a medical practice and who knows.... but I figured I needed to be honest. So I told him 'currently working on beating Left for Dead 2 and Modern Warfare 2.'

He grinned and said, 'wow! A real girl gamer. When can you start?'
