Hi all,

I married my wife on 2005 and we live separately since then.

My case is IR1 now. For IR1 person:

1- Do I need any proof (like photo) that we are truly married or marrage license is enough for Interview?

I also heard that people take the phone bills or house-lease document but since i never lived with

my wife , I do not have any document to show. It is only for people who lives together? right?

It sounds to me a bit like a joke that I have to prove that I am the real housband of my wife.

2- What are the interview questions? do they ask question like " what is your spouse favorate food/color?"

Thanks

i searched over the site and was not able to get exact info for cr1 and ir1 interview stages specifically about a bona fide or ongoing relation between spouses,i will tell you what we are going to offer inshallah when we we finish the nvc, and hope others could add what they know:

emails: an adequate amount through all your relation together

phone bills/chat logs/web cam snapshots/sms reports through cel phones if you have

photos you took together with friends,family....etc

your spouse passport with the exit/return stamps to your country

plane tickets if you still keep them

bills or receipts of stuff you consumed together during the time or visits

snail mail/gifts/presents/cards in regular mail

letters from friends/family members who attended our wedding or went out dining with us,saw us together,...etc

a letter from your petitioner's employer adding you on the retirement plan

notice that many people succeeded in having co mingling financial things together as a joint account or a lease agreement but we are not able to do any of that.....waiting for more posts pls for mehrdad and paradiselost

Paradiselost it is an IR1 visa because they have been married longer then two years. Thr CR1 visa is when you have been married less then two years. With that said, it doesn't matter which visa it is...you have to prove that you have a bonafied marriage.

The phonebills and such are to prove that you keep in contact with one another. The plane tickets and copies of the pages in the passport are to show that you've travelled to your SO's country. The pictures are to show your relationship with your SO and you SO's family.

The evidence of your marriage is very important. You know that you have a genuine marriage, but you have to prove it to the CO.

Post what country you are from, so that you can get country specifics that you will most likely need.

Waiting.....Waiting....waiting....waiting....and more waiting..........

Yes, you will need to prove your relationship, and that it is ongoing, ie planetickets of when you visited together, photos of the wedding and after- ideally with family-, emails, evidence that you are eachother's next-of-kin on life insurance, kid's birth certs, whatever you have.

How many and what kind of questions get asked will depend on the officer interviewing, the embassy you are interviewing at and other factors. They are tailored to your circumstances, so as you have never lived together, you (I think you are the foreigner, she the USC?) won't be asked which side of the bed she sleeps on, but you may be asked about the names and numbers of her siblings, where her parents live and how you get on with them, her job title and name of her company, her address, why you are only filing now, 5 years into the marriage etc.
