Hi all,

I know this may come as a shock to many of you, considering how far along I am in the process... but I wanted to apologise for not being around lately and let you know I am divorcing my husband.

The past month has shown me a side of him I do not know, and I realised I married way too soon, I also don't really want to leave my family here in Australia... and so I am divorcing.

There is a LOT more which I dont wish to go into on here, but I wanted to wish everyone well on their journeys. I have made some good friends here, and if you want to keep in touch, I am on facebook, or email.

PM me if you want my facebook details.

Thanks again for all the support.

I am sorry you are going through this.

Donna. I'm really sorry. I hope you find happiness and success in your life.

I feel like I must say something, because you seem like such a nice person: You're so close to the interview date. And it was such a journey getting there. This process is so hard and stressful and can take its toll on any new marriage. If it were me, and this is just me, I'd go to the interview. Get the visa and fly to the States. Not for good but as a trial run. Give your marriage one last best shot. And then if it doesn't work out, you can always go back home to Australia. Maybe things will be different in person? I don't know. I hope things work out for you. Good luck!

dang donna! Sorry to hear :o( I guess as a married couple, you make that promise to be with each other and to work through the tough times so that the grass IS greener on the other side of the dlemma. unfortunately, it sounds like this is a situation that wasn't able to be worked through. can't believe you were about 2 weeks off being together again!!

To make some light of a bad situation, you think you could swing me your dec 1st interview date? :o) haha

haha i'd love to throw you my interview! :D

You were never going to be able to change him. I feel so bad for you guys. Maybe he will wake up and realize what he is losing by choosing to remain unemployed, home with mum and dad and leaving the entire immigration process in your hands. He might just decide to grow up and make an effort to save the marriage. But if he is gonna change it will be on him to do it. You did all you could. Now you need to do what is best for you. I'm so sorry for all you are going through. I've been through divorce and no matter the reasons and even when it is exactly what you need to do, it still hurts. It is still a loss of a life you thought you had. Stay strong. It gets better. I know everyone says so and I know it is hard to believe now but it will. I promise. Someday you may even look back and wonder what on earth you ever saw in him or you may work things out and it will become a memory. Whatever the future holds for you it will be better than it is right now. I wish you the best of luck. Take care of yourself.

this is very true. you read my mind. i am already beginning to think that with the way he has acted during this whole process and now in the time of seperation.

Donna. I'm really sorry. I hope you find happiness and success in your life.

i would, but he has been the one instigating a lot of this, and told me yesterday that he sold his WEDDING RING just like that. he is also filing for an "annulment" tomorrow... so its done. and i dont want to go back to it now... there is a lot more involved, like criminal records and other stuff i didnt know about originally.

(F) wish you the best in life (F) when we come to australia, maybe we can look you up :D still planning on that trip

that is a great idea! i would love to show you around! :)
