Hey, it's me again. On the NOA - where it says Notice Type: Approval Notice - it also says Valid from 09/18/2009 to 01/18/2010.

Does that mean that I the beneficiary has to have the k1 visa in hand by then or that I have to at least have the interview date by then, or what do the dates mean?? I am in a bit of a panic as Michael lives in Florida, works out of Texas at times and also does work overseas in Africa. Because of this we have been taking a bit longer to get the information to each other. Right now I am gathering the information for the check list for the interview. I need to know if we are okay still.

Thank you in advance

Karen & Michael

NOA2 means the petition is approved; they will LOOK at your beneficiary's application for the visa which you now have to prepapre

following the examination by the NVC. You can track it's progress through DHL in the NVC posting area where there is a thread that

will give you more detailed instructions on DHL tracking. Once you track it to the consulate, the consulate will, in a week or two

send you the packet3 letter (send to the beneficiary by snail-mail). Then you get the police report & medical exam and fill out

the forms in the packet3 instructions.

Packet3 instructions

You can start all of this preparation RIGHT NOW.

If you get close to the expiration date and still don't have your interview, you may want to send a request to your embassy to extend the validity period of the 129F. Look here: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/extend-approval.doc

You may also want to consult with fellow VJ'rs who've interviewed in Vancouver (or are about to). http://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?country=Canada

Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Thanks everyone, at least now I know we are on the right track and should be okay. I have my police report and have had my medical, I just need documents from Michael. It seems to me that I can fax Vancouver and get the interview date soon.

Thanks again for all of your great responses.
