Hi!

I am POEing (if there's such word) in a 48 hours or so. Super excited. I have 2 big boxes of items, a roller bag carry-on and a backpack. No food, mostly clothes and house items.

I am carrying the copies of our K1 documents plus all NVC, embassy related paperwork, plus passport with K1 visa and big fat yellow DO NOT OPEN envelope.

I know there's a form I need to bring about list of things I have? Do I just make those or do I print it from somewhere?

Also, if there's any advice or so that anyone who's POEd at Pearson, please let me know! I know that Ill be fine and it will be smooth (hopefully), but Im still worried... hehehehehe.

My flights at 3:30 to Baltimore but Im planning to be there by 11:30-12:00 noon.

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Congrats getting your visa.

I didn't POE at Pearson, but I can relay a little bit of advice.

For your inventory of personal belongings, just write it up yourself, no need to hunt for a template online. Also, don't worry about giving extreme details on it, like manufacter's name and sizes. Just give a general description, ie: Box 1- sweaters, pants, etc.. Box 2- blender, toaster, utensils, silverware, etc...

Also, when they are done processing you, double check your I-94 that they put in your passport before you leave the office. I didn't, so I never saw that they put me in as a k-2 vs K-1 till the next day and it has been a huge pain to straighten out. Overall, expect a fairly painless process, that may take the gaurd a little bit of time to complete, depending on their experience processing K-1's.

Have a good and safe trip and remember to post us a review once you get "home"

I POEed at Pearson, it was so easy. It takes time if there are a lot of people ahead of you but they are very polite and professional.

I inventoried by belongings (just typed it on a sheet of paper and titled them "BOX 1 CONTENTS, BOX 2 CONTENTS, BACKPACK CONTENTS") because I was nervous about being searched. I wasn't searched and they didn't even look at the list. But better to have it just in case.

Arrive at least 2 hours early because they might be short staffed or have a high volume of people in secondary.

Good luck.

Just a couple of weeks ago I had a similar experience at Pearson...I was there at 4.30 when immigration opens (my flight was at 6.30) and it took about 20 mins but there were already people they pulled into secondary so the officer who processed my case was juggling me and the other people. He was quick and on point but didn't radiate happiness or frendliness...but probably few people do when they have to show up for work at 4am! :)

Wow! Things sure have changed! Maybe they were reading about themselves on VJ.

I POE'd in Vancouver International, and they didn't even care about my suitcases. I had two big ones, plus wall pictures that I had in a box. They didn't even ask questions. I hope your experience is just as easy, but it's good to be prepared.

I had to fill out my own I-94 and can't remember what it said on it. I just hope that I put my birthday in the right order as the copy I kept; it was backwards! (Putting day first instead of month) Americans it's month first. So if you DO have to write yours, watch out for that! :)

Best wishes and easy travels!

Nothing is wrong with bachelor pads... nor a guest bedroom with 3 computer stations and 7-8ish working computers. There's a bed in the corner honest.

Oh right, that whole it's not just my house it's our house thing. *halo*

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."
