Two I-751 applications questions.

The first is relatively simple: The FD-258 and fingerprinting is done after the initial applications is filed right? Just like before they will book an appointment for me.

The second is I am going to send this in on Monday. My parents just offered to fly my wife and I back for the holidays and we are leaving on the 14 of december. Usually the NOA will come back in 1-2 weeks.

Should I mention this in the application and ask them to send my NOA as soon as possible. Also it's actually a lengthy trip and goes into Jan- should I mention this and not to book my biometrics appointment during that date?

Thanks!!

Requesting USCIS to hurry up because you are going on vacation is hilarious! Haven't you dealt with them in the past? You are on THEIR schedule, they tell you where to be and when.

They'll schedule your biometrics and send a letter. If you can't make it, you can request to move the date, but can't request it ahead of time.

I dont know when your GC expires, but I'd wait to have an extension letter in hand before I departed. Better to be safe than sorry. But again, this depends when your GC expires.

Biometrics are indeed done after NOA1. You might want to hang in there with traveling until at least biometrics are done.

when does your GC expire? with that info we can give you much better advise :)

MY GC expires on the 8th of Jan. I am not too concerned about traveling before biometrics are done- as I understood the last biometrics they can be cancelled due to circumstances.

I really don't mind if my travel makes my GC process take longer- I just don't want to be stuck out of country.

You can also try for a walk-in biometrics after you receive NOA1. Some offices allow for that.

You could cancel/postpone your biometrics; but if you are not in the country how would you do that? If you just do not show up it might create problems for you.

I have friends that can check my mail. I believe that (at least it was like this for first interview) there is a way to cancel on the form- by phone or mail, I could do either really.

Well guys it all worked out! I got back from the UK on Sat and had my biometrics appointment yesterday. Did have to have my friend cancel a couple of appointments though.
