Hi, one of the requirements in AOS application is the I-797 NOA2 approval notice. You could send in the black & white photocpy of it on the package of I-485 "IF" you can "show up" an original copy of it whenever your interview comes for AOS. So it means .. very important you to have it.

One friend of mind lost her NOA2, and dats delayed their AOS application bcos they need to apply for a new certified copy of NOA2, and it cost $200. without it means .. they will get RFE for that, bcos they dont have the original to photocopy it. and in ur case, you have a photocopy but doesnt have the original, ur not sure too if there's a certain stamp that will show its new or 2nd copy already of ur NOA2 of I-129F.

hope it helps.

papatel,

Bad move, but too late now.

If the consular officer kept the petition Approval Notice it was hopefully in the manilla envelope and is now back in USCIS hands in their file on you.

If you have a good copy I think you will be fine. We sent a copy with the package. We took the original to the interview and they never asked for it. I would probably take my chances before I would pay $200 for the copy. The interview was mostly about money and proof that you live together.

We just finished with AOS. I never recieved the NOA2 because the USCIS will not mail to a PO Box. We sent a copy of the e-mail that was recieved when the application was approved. That is all. Never recieved an RFE, never mentioned at interview, but I suppose it may depend on where your interview is.
