Wow what was that guy thinking?! Imagine if you weren't a member of VJ and didn't know he was wrong and just crossed the way he told you too? There would be no record of you crossing, you would have all your paperwork still, no I-94, yikes. McFail is right!

On a random note, at first glance I thought the thread title said, "Bringing spoons to the US" I was thinking, what the hell, how many spoons do they have?!

You must have had the same guy I had when we brought over the UHaul. He had no idea what my IR-1 was (i.e. the visa in the passport, because my green card hadn't arrived yet) & wondered where my I94 was. *Sigh*. He told me they don't see too many immigrant visas there, which I find hard to believe, but . . . whatever!

Wyatt's Torch: Sent PM reply. :)

They're supposed to train these people, y'know? I mean, I know he was only a front-line officer, but he should know what a K-1 is (or at least know what "I'm activating an immigrant visa" means).

Can you imagine if we were one of those "attorney-supported" couples that knew nothing about the process, and gotten married on the idea that they'd be fine to adjust status afterward? We would have been totally and utterly screwed just on the advice of that one officer!

But I'm happy to be here; once we were in secondary everything was smooth. On to the wedding! :)
