hi--

my uk fiance is waiting for his police certificate. he was arrested a few years ago but not convicted. he was honest about it when requesting the police certificate. if the arrest shows up on the certificate, is there a chance he will be denied the visa? i am so afraid! thanks...

Depends what it was for, drugs is the biggie no no.

thanks for answering. wasn't for drugs, it was for a stupid fight at a football game. not a crime of "moral turpitude," but i still wish he didn't have a flag on his application. has anyone else had to deal with this?

Well it should show on his ACPO what the incident was all about, if it IS on there, who knows....if its not, well the thing is that you HAVE TO say if you have EVER BEEN ARRESTED ...the question is on one of those packet 3 forms you see... Arrests/convictions etc HAVE to be reported. The consulate just wants "proof" of the incident, so if nothing came about it, court records, fines, etc, then dont worry. If there are fines, restitution, rehabilitation then you have to show that you did/pay those.

They just want some "proof" of the incident so have it ready cause they'll RFE you like us and then you have to send it back to the consulate when you get it with your passport--THEN you get your flipping visa....so get EVERYTHING before your interview.
