I received my SSN yesterday and it had no restriction on it!!! It just looked like my hubb's eventhough i applied using my EAD. I was approved on the 7th Feb for my Green Card.

Was wonderinf if I still need to update with SSA or just wait till citizenship??

Thanks,

Abby

If you applied with an EAD card and you were issued an unrestricted SSN card, someone at the SSA office screwed up. Since, you will soon have your I-551 card it's not that big of a deal. Just be sure to show the EAD card as work authorization if you apply for a job, not the SSN card, since right now you really aren't supposed to have that type of SSN card.

Now the only thing that would need to be done with SSA is updating your SSN record to show you are a U.S. citizen once your are Naturalized.
