Long form for birth and marriage certificate?

Anyway, marriage certificate, got my mind blown. Maybe someone can chime in on this for me as well. Submitted my ceritifcate of marriage, that I recieved when I was married in Baumholder Germany. Its the internation certificate, meaning it comes in about seven languages right on it. Its the original, signed in blue ink, with the city stamp. However they still flagged it for the normal bs checklist they sent out. Its hard to send them what they want, when they don't even say what they need to begin with you know Best of luck with you, hope this helped a little.

This scares me. That's the same one that we sent in. (we're still in USCIS phase) I hope they don't reject mine when it gets to NVC as well. The other version we have would have to be translated... which makes no sense at all that they would want that one. Afterall, the same Standesamt signed both of them.

Hey, I wouldn't worry tooooo much. Your I-130 will make it through just fine. I mean, I filed my case in Germany so of course its correct. I eventually spoke with a supervisor at NVC, and she said send one more copy of it, and a note stating its all that was issued and they gave the original, so I typed them a letter stating everything, and HOPEFULLY I will hear some good news this week.

As for the long birth certificate. TOTALLY different. Just got my wife's last week. It has ALL the info on it, so I guess I can understand why they might want it. It was from Panama, but went as far to state mom/dads occupation, their addresses/places of birth, everything. Crazy. But, hopefully it all goes well.

I was originally rejected from NVC with my short form birth certificate. My wife had to get the long form which is a NARRATIVE, like a story, that contained much of the same information as the short form, but was more detailed. My case was stalled at the NVC until they received this. Hope this helps.

Hello, not sure if anyone is checking this post anymore, but I've a question regarding the long vs short birth certificate as well- I've lost my original birth certificate and ordered official copies from the state. But to my dismay, for some reason, these new LONG version copies had my mother's name misspelled. No idea how that happened as the original was correct. Now I'm worried because I've received the new revised copies of my birth certificate and while it has all of the same information as the LONG version, it looks like the SHORT version if you compare it to the Wikipedia images. I've called the USCIS helpline, but they were no help. I have everything ready to send off for my I-130 petition and would hate to waste more time reordering my birth certificate for the 3rd time.

If anyone out there has any input, please help!!!!
