Most economic indicators have dropped despite (or because of) Obama's flurry of activity. Unemployment continues to dog this administration but wouldn't know it by the news. Obama mortgage mitigation efforts are tiny compared to his promises. The stimulus package stimulated very little and most Americans still believe the unemployed are somehow building roads.

To be fair, Obama had no qualifications in business or economics nor any experience in making executive decisions. We got what we deserved and millions of people will pay the price. If he couldn't fix Bush's problems, he shouldn't have run for the office. Nobody is going to want to hear that line in 2012 and I'm sure 2010 is going to be a real wakeup call for the party in power.

For the umpteenth time - Obama has embraced Keynesian KENYAN Economics....

Making tough decisions as leader of the free world isn't very popular at times. Thank God it's not a popularity contest after a President is sworn in to serve.

it was a popularity contest before the swearing in?

so we have a "popular" person get elected ... then the person is no longer obliged to be popular and can do unpopular things .... got it ... this pres can't be honest.

The fact is, Barry doesn't make the tough decisions. He leaves that work to Pelosi, Reid and even Eric Holder and his wife, while he travels around the world on his extended Obama Apology Tour. He won a popularity contest to become president, but it may as well have been a beauty contest for the level of intelligence he's brought to the Executive Office (when he's even there).

Hard to fathom I imagine for some, but if you'd like, I could post some quotes from Bush and Cheney regarding popularity polls.

Poll: Bush And Cheney Still Unpopular

A new Gallup poll tests how former President George W. Bush and former Vice President ####### Cheney have fared in public opinion since they left office. The answer: Badly. Bush's favorable rating is only 35%, with 63% unfavorable. Cheney is at 30% favorable to 62% unfavorable.

Bush's popularity had been inching up a bit over the course of the 2008 campaign and as he was on the way out -- up to a high of 40% favorable and 59% unfavorable in early January -- but his numbers now are back near the all-time low of 32% favorable and 66% unfavorable from April 2008.

Oh natty, natty, natty, natty... The economic crisis, amongst all of the other crisis facing both our nation and the world did not begin January 20, 2009. It would be difficult for any president to be popular in the hyper divisive media disinformation frenzy we are currently being treated to.

Nothing dodgy or simplistic about my observation.

Mention Bush when the BS comes out, and all you hear is how you are "dragging out the past." That is truly a weak dodge. Blame Obama for the Civil War if it makes you feel any better.

Cheney's Unforgivable Egotism

Raddatz: "Mr. Vice President, I want to start with the milestone today of 4,000 dead in Iraq, Americans, and just what effect you think that has on the country. Your thoughts on that?"

Cheney: "Well, it obviously brings home, I think for a lot of people, the cost that's involved in the global war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. It places a special burden, obviously, on the families. We recognize, I think -- it's a reminder of the extent to which we're blessed with families who have sacrificed as they have. The President carries the biggest burden, obviously; he's the one who has to make the decision to commit young Americans. But we are fortunate to have the group of men and women, the all-volunteer force, who voluntarily put on the uniform and go in harm's way for the rest of us. You wish nobody ever lost their life, but unfortunately it's one of those things that go with living in the world we live in. Sometimes you have to commit military force, and when you do, there are casualties."

PBS's Tavis Smiley asked retired Gen. Wesley Clark about Cheney's comment last night. Clark's response: "Well, I guess you could say he does bear an enormous burden of guilt and responsibility, for misdirecting the resources of the United States and for the travesty of going to war in Iraq . . . But that's not a burden that's anything like the burden these families bear when their loved ones are overseas, and they suffer losses, or they come back home and they've got post-traumatic stress disease and other problems, when the little kids don't recognize the parents when they come in the door because of the frequent deployments and so forth. This is an entirely different kind of burden. So I think that Vice President Cheney is not being fair to the men and women who serve. He should recognize the enormous sacrifices they're making."
