My turn to ###### and complain. Katya leaves for Moscow from Vladivostok on the 30th. I sent a UPS letter envelope containing paperwork for her interview on the 13th. This included my original boarding passes and some dated ticket stubs from a museum in her city. I think those 2 items are the only two "original" peices of evidence that I will loose. The package hit South Korea on Wednesday night and hasn't moved since. UPS will not put a trace on the package until after business today; which may mean I can't call until Monday morning.

I can reprint all of the forms, make additional photocopies of the NOA1/2 and re-print the digital photos; but now time is a factor. I am going to have to find a FedEx International "Overnight" service and pay out the freaking nose to attempt to send these documents to her. Perhaps i can send them to her friend's address in Moscow; but it will still have to be a more expedited service - and I will loose the 2 pieces of 'original evidence' that I had wanted to keep!

Anyone have any advice? With Thanksgiving coming up, I'm quickly running out of valid business days to get the paperwork to her. To save money, I imagine that she can print the DS-230, any email/skype logs, and hopefully find a shop to print out digital photos; but I have to sign and print the DS-156 and my I-134 and still find a way to get that to her before Dec 7.

Hi,

I had a similar problem. I personally delivered the original documents to

my fiance. She lost them, they were found at a friends dacha. But, too late

for the interview.

I sent what I could priority overnight via Fed ex. There really isn't overnight delivery to Russia.

I sent the documents on the 12th of November. The estimated delivery date was the 17th.

The documents were delivered as promised. But, hurry as it takes more time than in the U.S.

Best of luck,

Ed

Write an email to the consulate explaining the situation and send ALL documents via email. They will understand and doing so may even help you.

There were documents I sent to the consulate that my fiancee did not have. They actually thanked me!

Why do you have to sign the DS-156? It is her form, not yours. And you can send a signed copy of the I-134 (not always necessary) via email. In fact, the information that supports the I-134 (pay stubs, tax transcripts, etc) is actually more important than the I-134 itself.

Try it! I did not spend a dime on mail.

Question 40 of the DS-156 (not DS-156k - she better fill that out herself since it's in Russian!) is "Application prepared by:" Which is technically me, since I filled out the web page and generated the PDF file for her. I know the consulate website has instructions written in Russian on how to fill out the form; so if worse comes to worse she can just do it all herself.

If I can email the I-134, 156 and/or 230 to the consulate; that would be a big bonus. I don't know what else they would accept via email; but all of our 'evidence of meeting' information is electronic except for the boarding pass and museum ticket stub - and those are lost for now. Emails, skype chat, purchase receipts from Russianservice.com - all stuff I can email to Moscow.

I would write to the embassy and explain that you have sent additional original documents to your fiancee but don't know if she will receive them before she leaves for Moscow. Ask if you can email any copies to them. Make sure to include her name and the case number in your email. The embassy staff will let you know if that is acceptable.

Probably she won't need it, unless she meets up with the CO that is in a bad mood.

After a 3rd call to UPS today they said that it was 'stuck in customs'; which could just be code for 'go the #### away and stop bothering us'. But it's better than "we dunno where ur package is. duh hur!". I've already emailed the consulate, so we'll just wait and see what happens.

Yes, call the consul. I once sent Zhanna a CD of bands I liked. It took 3 months to clear customs. I hope she gets your package before the interview. Looks like we have our interviews pretty close to each other. You're on the 7th I'm on the 8th. Best of luck! keep us posted.

Well UPS sent it through to Russia. It's in a city 500m north of Vladivostok currently; but at least it's in the country. Now to hope I filled out all the forms properly. Though if Moscow allows me to email them electronic files, any mistakes I may have made won't be a problem.

Our son is in school in Moscow. when we have to send things we send them FedEx for station pickup. From Vermont it is about $76 for three day delivery, they have always been reliable. I am not sure how much weight you get for that amount but it is usually one of those Fedex envelopes stuffed full.

when they ask if it was prepared by someone else, they are referring to professionals, visa services or attroneys. You can fill it out for her. You can put your name on it if you like, you do not have to. makes no difference.

That's good to know. I may have to go with her printing the docs and maybe emailing them to the Embassy. The package was NOT stuck in customs before; because NOW it is stuck in customs. UPS gave the following message:

"THIS SHIPMENT IS WAREHOUSED UNTIL IT IS RELEASED BY CLEARING AGENCY"

So #### UPS. So annoying. I'll use FedEx from now on.

UPS tried their damnedest to prevent the paperwork from reaching Katya. They had 11 business days to deliver it, and they took 9. 2 more days and she's flying to Moscow. But it made it there on time and that's all that matters. Moscow also emailed me and said I can email them the I-134 financial stuff if I wanted to.

Now the real waiting begins!

FedEx: No one else even comes close, when you absolutely, positively need important embassy interview documents to get there with her on time.

+1 for that post. Anything other than FedX and your asking to be screwed....that and they have a great website that allows you to track your mail.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
