Hello, I would like to know since I heard from some people that I can only request once to extend the stay of my 72 yo mother as a visitor visa here in the USA. Her first visit was 2007 and I requested for an extension and was granted for another 6 mos..totalled 1 year stay here in the USA. She flew bk to the Philippines May of 2008. However, she is sched to fly back here again in January 2010. My ques is Can i request for an extension for her again for the 2nd time around? Of course I will do this request before she reached her last month of stay here depending how many mos the POE in LAX will give her......

Thanks so much for any inputs...Appreciate it very much...

Does it matter if she never visits the US again?

I am not sure if there is a blanket denial on second requests, but I know two people who applied for second extensions for parents (one from Russia, one from Mexico), and both got denied.

Yes, it does matter so much ...to me...she is my mother...don't you have one too? We live millions miles away and i've got 2 kids...I am widowed ....husband died and it was suddened...I am grieving for his lost....For as long as she still lives, I will do everything that I can to let her come back here in the USA with me ...to be with my children.....and your ques..."DOES IT MATTER IF SHE NEVER VISTS THE US AGAIN" is too blunt for you to asked...you should have re-phrased your ques though....

thanks anyways....

If she does not wish to re-visit then it is perhaps worth the risk.

As she does you should not abuse the privelege and comply with the terms of her I-94, as it is her previous extension may well be raised at the PoE.

(My mother passed away earlier this year, so a bit difficult)
