Hey, I could use some help. My Fiancee had her interview at Abu Dhabi on Oct.20 and was mistakenly sent home, so the embassy called her back the next business day and told her to drop off her passport and apologized for the mistake, she was at the embassy when they called! So she dropped off her passport and was told to return the following Wednesday to pick it up with her visa in it. She went back to pick it up and was given a 221g stating she needed Administrative Processing and to check the embassy web site for our case number to see when we are out of AP. It showed up 6 days later, which is absolutely great, but she has work commitments until 28 Nov. in Kuwait. The embassy's web site says to appear as soon as possible with your passport. I asked our lawyer if I should e-mail the embassy and explain why my Fiancee hasn't appeared there yet to get her visa, and the lawyer said she needs to get to the embassy ASAP before something changes. Now, yeah I want her there NOW to get her visa, but she is stuck on business. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this could affect my Fiancee negatively in getting her visa? I know this isn't usually a problem, getting to the embassy to drop off the passport for the visa, our case has been out of AP since 9 Nov., and it could be a couple of weeks before she can get to the embassy. Can something really "Change" in the mean time? Thanks for any and all input.

Not to be a downer and not to say that this will happen to you. But someone posted a situation just like this a few months back and their visa was denied due to failure to show / abandonment. Everything was sent back stateside, after that I have not seen any posts by that person on VJ again.

She really needs to get there ASAP!!!!!! Im not sure if contacting them would help or not.

deer - i am hoping the consulate will be 'nice' to her, at this point.

Perhaps a fax to them, to explain her WORK schedule, would be sufficient?

Hang in there !!

Warmest Regards..

Hey, I have an update. She went to the embassy this morning and they told her that they need "More time to check for her K-1 visa" and then gave her a paper (green, I believe) that said: Date:1-Dec-09

Number of passport:1

Thank you for submitting documents as requested during your previous interview. Please drop off your passport(s) to the cashier. Your case will be reviewed by a consular officer who will make the final determination on your case. Your passport(s) may be picked up at 2:00 P.M. on date indicated above. Please bring this form at time of pick up.

Nobody told her if this is an approval or not, but to come back on Dec.1. This is her 6th trip to the embassy, and I am not sure what to think at this point. I am hoping and praying this is it, that she goes back this one last time on the 1st and she will get the visa! The saga continues.

Deer,

I am really happy to hear your good news. Indeed, thank G-d!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Great News !!! Now is time for planning 'what to pack' and 'what to ship' :D

I know this will sound weird (cause I'm a guy and not supposed to know this ) but...

ask her to put together 4 month supply of her cosmetics , SHIP it to you, asap.

At some point, when she 'switches over' to using the products available in the USA, she MIGHT have some skin reaction -so it's better to have HER supply....

No No, don't argue with her about her shoes - just ship them all.

-------------

any projection on when y'all are gonna kick in the K-2 FTJ ?

Thank you Nagishkaw, Dakine, and INKY! Hey Darnell, you really know your sh*t, thanks again for all the help and advice! HEHEHEHE Hey that's very good to know about her make-up. The Embassy in Abu Dhabi said they will forward the case to GZ right away. I don't know how long that really means, or how long we can expect to wait for an interview. I am starting to worry about getting a letter from the birth father of our little girl, because he abandoned them when the baby was 7 months old and hasn't been seen nor heard from since. The Child is now just about to turn 13, so it's been a while and my Fiancee says she doesn't know where to begin looking for the POS. My Fiancee is going home to China in a day or two and will see what she can do as far as finding the guy. I believe that letter is a must-have for the daughter to follow to join, so we need to act on this quickly. You know, something kind of funny and weird- I had been having the toughest time getting my Fiancee's police certificate from Singapore, and it finally arrived just minutes before she was to leave for the embassy to pick up her visa! They never asked her for it! I am sure we will need it at some point in the process, but man, that was a hellish experience getting that CNCC! VJ is such a great community, so many people, total strangers, shared their experiences with us and helped keep us focused on the positive, by the way, JSVP08, you are an angel! I am so stoked right now! It has been 300 days since we were together and we are finally going to be reunited very soon!
