my fiancee was on a religious work visa while we met and had a SSN. Since she got her Fiancee visa does she get a new SSN ?

No, she doesn't get a new SSN but she will have to update her status with the SSA once she gets her EAD and then after he gets her permanent residency.

No, a SSN is issued for life.

Please don't forget to :time:

**Topic is "Working & Traveling prior to getting a Green Card" related (presumably); moving thread there where it may be more appropriate.

There is no status up date required with having an EAD. Once you are married apply for a card with her married name, assuming she is changing her name.

No reason to 'update status' when the EAD is received. The status of the alien has not changed.

But you will want to pay a visit to your SS office once the greencard is received so the work restriction can be removed from the number. And again if the alien naturalizes.

I would have added that info too, but I answered at 3:00 a.m. when I had got up to go to the bathroom and I was in a hurry to get back to bed. LOL
