Difference between I-864 and I-864EZ?

Timeline

i noticed that there are 2 different forms. If it's only my wife that's immigrating, which one is more appropriate?

January 13th 2006: Started dating in Los Angeles!

May 23rd 2009: Engaged in Iceland!

October 31st 2009: Married in Quebec!

December 30th 2009: I-130 sent

January 11th 2010: NOA1

March 09th 2010: NOA2

August 8th 2010: Done at NVC

January 14th 2011: INTERVIEW IN MONTREAL!!

as the title indicates... if you are eligible the EZ form is EZ'R... but the standard I-864 works even if you are eligible to use the other form

hah! understood. my question is moreso what qualifies one over the other.

Hi and welcome,

If the sponsor is using only income - then you would use the I-864EZ

If the sponsor is using assets, they would use the I-864

:)

or sponsoring more than one immigrant precludes the EZ... all info contained in the form instructions
